My Story
I watched BL and listened to their stories..........how they got to be obese, and they mostly had one thing in common: They have always had a weight problem. My story is not like that. I was a very active kid who never sat still and that remained the case as an adult. It started to change when I hit my mid 30's and the pounds slowly crept on, ambushing me when I was not looking. In 10 years I was up 35 pounds, and try as I might, I could not rid myself of them. Then I became a yo-yo, losing and gaining over and over again, and each time the pounds came back they brought friends. I tried many different 'plans', most of them healthy, and I lost weight on all of them. The problem is that I did not change internally and always went back to my old habits. By 2006 I weighed 155 pounds MORE than I had in my early 30's. Then I saw an ad for hypnosis for weight loss........one of those seminars, and it was not far from me. I called a friend, did she want to try it. She was all for it until the day before, then she backed out. I wasn't going to go but I figured I had wasted $40.00 before, give it a shot. I went alone, not really expecting it to work. Here I am, 105 pounds lighter, I guess it's working! My ultimate goal is to lose 140 pounds.........I will be able to say that I lost half of myself. What amazes me most is the internal change. I am no longer spiteful, looking for revenge. I have evolved into a 'live and let live' woman looking for peace and harmony. I like who I amm both inside and out. Update July 16,2010: I am now at 125 lost, and feel incredible. When I first joined SP, I liked who I was and had confidence in myself, but now I feel even more intensified. My energy level is through the roof and I know I can accomplish anything I set out to tackle. It is hard to believe that the same woman who had to push herself to walk 10 minutes is now working towards a half marathon. I love my life, and it only gets better as the days go by.
