Welcome 2012!

My name is Paula. I joined Spark People for some motivation, support and healthy ideas! I am happy with this site, the people on it and my progress. I have to admit that it's been a slow process...but the progress towards my goals are there. When I originally started my weight loss program, I was 176 lbs. My name is Paula. I joined Spark People for some motivation, support and healthy ideas! I am happy with this site, the people on it and my progress. I have to admit that it's been a slow process...but the progress towards my goals are there. When I originally started my weight loss program, I was 176 lbs. Now I am 163 lbs. and my daily eating habits are much better. I have always heard that making lists helps one to succeed. It seems to be working, but also found that having a community of like-minded individuals encouraging each other to meet their goals helps too!!

I enjoy walking, hiking, the treadmill, yoga and aerobics but have been too tired (in the past) to find the energy. My energy is slowly coming back - I just need to kick start my workout plan. My biggest problem seems to be patience and maybe THAT is the lesson I need to take away from all this weight gain. It's a message to slow down, take some time for myself, plan my meals, exercise for health and I will be a more productive person overall. For myself, my family, my friends and co-workers.

My Goals:
Weight loss:

To lose 5 lbs. at a time. Eventually getting down to 130 lbs.

To fit into size 7/8 jeans.

To have more energy.

To drink 8 glasses of water a day.

To eat a healthy, balanced diet. Cook more at home. Eat 5 -7 servings of fruit and veggies a day. No more processed or fried food...period!!



My Program:
My portion sizes have decreased. I am eating fruit for snacks and have given up sugar sodas. I either cook at home or eat Lean Cuisine, Healthy Choice or Smart Ones lunches & dinners. It makes it easier to track the calories, fat, carbs & protein through the nutrition tracker.
