Getting There - One Step At A Time...

This is my second try at Spark People. I quit a while back because I was no longer doing anything but going through the motions. During 2013 I lost the 5 pounds I gained in 2012, but still have a long way to go. I don't know if I will reach my goal in 2014, but I will consider the year a success if I end it at a lower weight. I didn't gain it overnight, and I don't plan to lose it overnight either.

My Goals:
My 2015Goal is to lose 30 pounds.

My longer term goal is to lose 50 pounds.

I want to continue my exercise habits to improve my fitness level and stave off the heart disease and diabetes that run in my family.

My Program:
Tracking my food is the most important tool! Working out 3 times a week at the gym with 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training. Walking at least 2 days a week for 30 or more minutes. My diet is not a formal diet plan. It is to eat healthy and stay within my calorie range for the week.

Personal Information:
Originally from Parma, Ohio, have lived in New Jersey, and now in the Orlando Florida area. Married, no kids. I'm 62, and hoping that this year will see me slimmer and healthier!

Other Information:
I love to read, travel and go to the theater. I also enjoy walking outside, but try to do it early in the day before it gets too hot!

You know, I get so wrapped up in the struggle to reach the goal line that I forget to simply live the journey. My goal for summer 2015 is to simply live it; to keep moving forward, even if I stumble along the way. It is the lifestyle I want, to walk the road with faithful fervor. So I am going to focus on simply living it.

Things I am learning this week: Wholehearted resolve reveals itself through earnest effort that flows from a willingness to adjust course in order to accomplish a purpose.
