Non smoker striving for normal weight

Being a non-smoker is fabulous, never going back! I hate the 25lbs put on since quitting. These love handles are so yucky! Always been active and a healthy eater/semi-vegetarian, but since I quit smoking, I've been following healthy meals with bingeing, substituting food for whatever it was that those nasty cigs gave me.
I'm codependent with childhood alcohol & trauma issues, that I thought I'd already worked out!
I TRY TOO HARD AT EVERYTHING

Patti, your note meant a lot to me. I really appreciate your taking the time to send it as well as your understanding. It just seems like every day there are more and more things to do, and I just can't fit everything in with the kind of dedication I think the team deserves. I'm also leading Happy Hippies and trying to do two at a time was spreading myself a little thin.

You're from Guffey? Cool. . . . I'm from Woodland Park and there are several Spark People from up the pass--Divide, Florissant, Lake George. Maybe we need to organize a Ute Pass Sparkers rally. Let's wait until summer, though.

Thanks so much for the comments on my photos. I kind of forgot which photos were there and your comments helped me to appreciate them again. The photos of my Mom are especially poignant for me. She passed away about two weeks after those photos were taken.

Thanks for reading my blog and the sage advice. No I can't control anyone or anything but myself and my reactions to what is said/done. Thanks for reminding me of that! You are so cute and I love guitar players! You are also really hard on yourself. As we age, we do unfortunately add weight to places we don't like unless we exercise in the gym hours a day and eat portions like a bird. You notice I didn't say eat like a bird because they eat all the time!

Congratulations for not smoking!! That is the most healthiest thing you could have done for yourself!! I am really proud of you for quitting. That had to be really hard. I, too, have major childhood issues and it is amazing how they keep cropping up even when (as I say I have a PHD in therapy at least by how much time and money I've spent on therapy!) you think you've beaten the subject(s) to death! Sometimes I have to treat it lightly even though it isn't the least bit funny.

Take Care and God Bless.
