I really love the idea of each of us having at least one lilac bush in our gardens - each time we see them, we will be reminded of each other, and it will be just that much more motivation to keep on resisting those occasional temptations.
Thank you for the wonderful gift - I'm sure that if I unwrapped it, there would be something to include in one of the gardens I hope to create along the front of each fence bordering my yard.
Your dream really took me by surprise, because when the fencing guys pulled down the old fence they offered to pull out the stumps left in the ground after I'd cut down the privet hedge to just above ground level. I'd gone out while they were doing so, and was really disappointed to see that they'd also pulled out some lovely old lilac bushes which had been growing amongst the privet for decades, and had taken them to the green waste recycling depot to be mulched. I had a beautiful old lilac bush in a house I lived in when my girls were only little, and it looked so beautiful when it was in bloom. I didn't regret moving to a different suburb, but I did regret leaving the lilac behind.
I'm going to buy myself some lilacs, and alternate the deeo purple, mauve and white flowering varieties along my side fence - as a result of your dream. It's been several weeks of trying to decide what to plant there, with nothing seeming quite right. Thank you so much for the inspiration, which I guess what what was really contained in my beautiful gift. It may take a few months to get the time, energy and motivation to get it done, but I know that each time I see those lilacs I will think of you and your dream.
Thank you so much for the wonderfully positive comments you left in reply to my blog about not being at all concerned I hadn't lost any weight this week. Its only been the past few days that I've walked into the bathroom without being tempted to check out my weight, see how I was doing - and that may have been five or six times each day. Now the only time I notice the scales (once the first things I saw from the doorway) when I'm mopping or sweeping the floors, lol.

If not for the support and friendship, the motivation to keep on trying no matter what, that I've found here on Spark People from Spark friends such as you, I'd still be the sad, completely unmotivated, junk food eating person I was before I discovered Spark People. And there I was, when I first read about the site, thinking to myself that I'd give it a try for a week or two.
I would never have believed that a weight loss/healthy eating site could change every single aspect of my life, and give me back my sense of self worth and motivation. Seems to work its magic on all of us here, doesn't it, without our even noticing.
