Pamela's Personal Journey

Hi, my name is Pamela and I had gastric bypass surgery 11/15/00. I lost over 150lbs. About 30 of those pounds found their way back to me. I am happy to say that with the help of Spark People I have lost that weight once again and am finally relearning my relationship with food. I know now that I have to take it day by day and remain conscious of my food choices and why I am eating. I'm not perfect and this isn't easy! However, I've also learned that this isn't "all or nothing". Mistakes ...

hey there!

i'm the new co-leader for the 20 pounds support group team and i'm so excited to get this team going again! did you know that today begins the countdown for the last 10 days of 2010? i can hardly believe it! but we've started a new thread where you can come and share with everyone how you're going to make these last 10 days count. i really want to get the team pumped and ready to achieve their goals in 2011! so come by and share with us how you've been, what you'd like to accomplish (or avoid) in the next 10 days, and let's get our group rockin' again!

can't wait to see you over there!

Pamela:
Thanks so much for your insight on "The Journey" eight years down the road. If I can keep it off, as you have done so successfully, I'll be doing great!!! Yes, we all hear and see the horror stories of those that have gained it all back... or the celebrity stories (Al Roker, Carnie Wilson)... believe me... I wont let it happen.

I would love to follow your lead and discipline myself as strong as you have. Weighing in at "Weight Watchers at Work" and getting on the scale at home will keep me on track. I won't let it overtake my life either.

I really appreciate sharing your experiences with me... and am lucky to have you as a friend.

Pamela you look awesome, I cannot believe that was you on your surgery day picture...:) What an inspiration you are. You must feel so much better now with the weight off.

I know it is a daily struggle, this is not easy and people who have surgery seem to think it is that it will be a quick fix and cure. But you have to deal with all the reasons that you eat. Because most of us eat for all the reason other than hunger....LOL

Congratulations on your ability to get that 30 pounds back off.....this is a great place to be to keep on track I do believe.

Thanks again for joining my team!!
