I was born in Jersey City, NJ, grew up in Syosset, NY, and moved back to Freehold, NJ in the 10th grade. My husband and I eloped when we were 18 and moved to Charleston, SC to go to college. We have been in SC ever since (43 years).

I have no great story to tell. I am just a "regular" woman, getting older, and trying to beat the years back a bit with a more healthy life style. I am hoping to begin hiking the Appalachian Trail this spring so I need to get into better shape. I plan to try for 10 miles per day to begin with. That may be a bit ambitious for the shape I am in - but I have 5 more months to work on it. (I don't plan to hike straight through.)

My Goals:
I am trying to get back into shape. I need to lose about 11 more pounds and I want to be able to run a 10 minute mile.

My Program:
I am trying to run everyday. I have a long way to go to reach my goal of a 10 minute mile - but I do see improvement.

I am losing weight by eating less and making more healthy choices.

Personal Information:
I live in SC and have recently retired (again) from a career in public education. I was a high school principal when I retired the first time. After a year off, I went back to teaching high school science. Now I am retired for good (I think). I have two married daughters and 2 grandsons.....and a husband of 43 years.

Other Information:
I really enjoy hiking and ballroom dancing,

hi..thanks for reading my month old blog. lol..and your comments..actually im really weak around food and when u get to be my age its like erasing a lifetime of habits..or rather i should say love of food...so...i will probably always succumb to temptation because i dont have the FORBIDDENS that much and when i see it i want it..its ok..i dont feel bad about that anymore ive accepted that..so i just try to have it in moderation and then go back to the plan..rite now im trying the charleston diet..no counting or anything. just having like a proteien at each meal, two carbs a day and free veggies etc..u get the idea. it seems to be working but not enuf to post on my wt ticker...maybe another week or so...thnks for checking on me and hope all is going well with you! emoticon

Thanks for the congratulatory remarks about bootcamp. It means a lot to me.

You did well with the bootcamp also. Even though you didn't have the ball, you still improvised. That's all that anyone could ask. I also improvised on the one jumping video because I found it hard to do all that jumping. However, I made sure to just keep moving.

Keep up the good work. emoticon

Thanks for stopping by and reading my latest blog, and leaving your encouraging words, they are appricated. We are getting more snow that started Sunday and will last until sometime tomorrow. Thakfully it isn't like the storm out east, but ours will be with us until warming temps in the spring. So eleven inches doesn't sound like much---however all we have gotten is really starting to be high piles(yuck). My hubby had a vacation day today so he used the snowblower, but maybe tomorrow I'll get a chance to go and do some more shoveling. Have a great week. Thanks too for the spark goodie, I love listening to music.
