My journey to lose 32 pounds since May 2013 inspired me to help others follow my path regardless of their health or politics. I succeeded in my quest to live a joyous life by not allowing hate, pain, envy, fear, doubt or sorrow to rule my day. I aim to provide an inspirational message to all members of this site that they have the ability and power to live an inspirational life. Christians can find this power in the Holy Spirit; others can obtain this strength by drawing on the wisdom of the universe. The universal message I wish to share is that whatever one can envision and hold in their mind, one can achieve.

I am inspired by Joyce Meyer to honor my God (or the universe if you don't believe in God) by doing good works (contributing more to society than what is received). If you are likewise inspired, you will be blessed and can more easily lose weight as good health allows you to better contribute to society, and as a result, live A Wholesome, Inspirational, Healthy and Joyous Life.
.
I regularly attend an Episcopal church with my wife, but respect all people regardless of their faith or non-belief. However, I believe there is an underlying message of wisdom and inspiration contained in the Bible that merits consideration by all believers in an ordered and purposeful life.

One lives a joyous life not by obtaining particular goals, but through having a purpose in life larger than all the evil thoughts of the world and faithfully living according to that purpose. Happiness comes well before the journey ends by having a vision of success. Whether, you are 30 or 300 pounds overweight, both enduring faith that you can regain your health regardless of setbacks, and the motivation to use your knowledge and wisdom to encourage others, leads to a life full of joy.

Positive thinking has led and continues to lead my life. I decided that I had to improve my health, and fitness to be a positive example for my family and others when I was age 67 thirty-two pounds overweight. Although I did not rely on any particular diet, I reduced sugary or processed foods; and substituted whole foods. I also followed my daughter's advice and started practicing for a 5K run with her and her daughters in their city. At the time I could not run 40 seconds without getting winded. Now I am at my goal weight and can run a 5k in under 45 minutes. I am continuing to improve my fitness by eating wholesome foods and exercising. Also, I have been writing down, for frequent reference, guiding principles of living that are complete. I found that by having pre-chosen guidelines, I can better avoid the temptations of the world.

I wish all a successful journey via SparkPeople. Please join my team www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/groups_i

I added you as a friend! emoticon

Well, I have my SparkMail turned off. So if it's okay, we can discuss things about the team (The Mighty Hundreds) on our walls. Or we can use the chat room of the team.

First of all, if you'd like the team to be more active, I was thinking we should probably reward people who place in the top three places on the leaderboard. Except that might not get them interested in the team, but it might! I can do that if you'd like, especially since it was my idea. And people who post in the forums the most could get rewarded too, when we've drawn them in, you know. And people who write blogs, but that just seems to be you and I right now, I just checked.

Well, let me know if you've had any ideas for stuff to do with the team, such as writing team emails or starting challenges. I think if you were to write the team a letter about how you're an older gentlemen working on getting to one hundred push ups, you might be able to inspire some of the other team members to join you in your quest. You don't need my okay before you send out any team emails, I was just curious. Send as many as you like!

Another thing that you might not even think is a thing is that I don't really like the name, but I couldn't come up with another one that I liked more, so I just stayed with the one that was there when I joined. I did change the description, though, which I do like. (Please keep the description the same!)
