I lost 71 pounds in 2009. In 2012 I gained 8 and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Since then I have been getting proper medication and adjustments and have lost 3.

Thanks to SP and my various team mates I have learned how to deal with these life curves rather than giving in to them and eating myself chubby.

In February 2009 it was time for me to make some major changes in my life, healthwise but it felt like I was only treading water and needed some help. That's when someone told me about SparkPeople.

And, sparks flew, so to speak because things started clicking and I started losing weight and learning how to modify my food intake to make all my goals to change possible.

Exercise? Not until I figured out it was necessary to get healthy.

So, my determination to get and stay healthy forever has only been possible to achieve with SparkPeople.

Lipservice doesn't make for change. Only fork down and activity up does.

Hi Cat, Just saw your note about Hurricane Irma. She cut us a break but abruptly fizzling out and turning east, away from us--after threatening to hit our neighborhood dead on. We evacuated to friends' house on higher ground and were expecting to come home to nothing. Our street didn't even lose power!

Irma in Orlando getting worse by the hour. Expected to continue worsening until tomorrow morning. Power still on but goes off then on. Two house roof leaks so far. Inside cats mostly calm with moments of panic at loud noises. Outside cat closed up in storeroom by back door with folded quilt, litter box, litter, toys, and overhead light while power is on. She's not happy but she's safe and dry. I worry about colony cats down the street more than I do about myself.

Thank you for thoughts and prayers.
