I'm glad to be on board here at Sparkpeople! I feel very motivated to lose the weight I need in order to age gracefully without pain, illness, or fear. I have two sons and am happily married to a great guy. I want to be around for them and for me. I am ready to enjoy the best years of my life. I'm 44 years young now. That gets a gal to thinking....is this the way I want to remain the rest of my days...uncomfortable, with aching knees and feet? No way!! I love the outdoors and want to be able to hike, canoe, camp and explore more and live life to it's fullest!
I'd also like to give a shout out to my best bud ever, Tricilla (Cillalilly). We've been friends since around age 6 or 7 and even though we live about 300 miles apart, our friendship remains strong. It always will. She told me about this place and is a devoted friend and "sparker". I am ready to finally get with the program and lose the weight I need to. When I was in my early 20's, I lost 75 lbs and kept it off for about 8 yrs. until I had children. So, I know I can do this. It may not come off as easily, but I know I can do it and now it's going to be for life!!

My Goals:
I have several. To age gracefully without pain, illness or fear is number one! My current weight loss goal is to lose 100 lbs. by March 2nd of 2013. I have a few mini goals: 25 lbs. by Feb. 1st, and then 25 by April 1st. I plan on reaching that by staying motivated through this site and helpful friends, like Cillalilly. If I stay on my program and continue to stay active, I know I can do it!


My Program:
I am trying a controversial weightloss method. I am following the Simeon Diet. It's strict, at least the first 23 days....only 500 calories per day and no fat, whatsoever. It is to reset your hormones and metabolisim and detox your body. After the initial part, I can then go to 1000-1500 calories/day. I am also taking homeopathic drops to stimulate my metabolism and I have a friend who is certified in accupuncture and is treating me for weightloss. I also have been hypnotized to help keep me motivated. I have a recording of it and listen to it nightly while going to sleep.



Personal Information:
We live in West Michigan and love it. I love the outdoors and all the seasons. But Spring is my favorite as I love to hunt morel mushrooms in the woods around here and to the north. We love to go to the Upper Penninsula in the summer. My husband (of 17 yrs.) and I like canoing, cross country skiing and gardening as well. I currently work in a cafe in a hospital and it can be a stressful as we also do caterings. There are many time crunches and multitasking going on all day. Some days I feel totally burnt out. So, I need to look into ways to handle it better and take better care of myself. I'm the only me I have!!


Other Information:
I find solace, peace, balance in nature. I love to read and I'm currently on the lookout for a good book. I like humor and some drama in my books. I consider myself pretty open-minded and non-judgemental to different folks and their lifestyles. I like reading in the evenings before I go to sleep. It keeps me out of the kitchen! I love to cook, and am working on cutting calories, adding fiber and more nutritional ingredients to the dishes I create. Check out my recipes!
