I found SparkPeople after almost 2 years in a new relationship with my body. Over those two years, I had taken off almost 50 pounds (over 25% of my start weight) and had under 10 more to go. It just wasn't going anywhere. I had learned a lot in my journey, felt better than I ever have in my life, and was considering that maybe this was where my body wants to be. I just wanted to get my wedding ring on! So, I came to SparkPeople to get motivation and new ideas.

My Goals:
Get my wedding ring on and off comfortably.

Get rid of the last few pounds.

Add muscle.

Continue to play with my granddaughters.

My Program:
Tracking food and eating well, lots of veggies and frequent small meals with protein works for me. Going easy on carbs first thing in the morning I've discovered helps a lot.

Staying active, including cardio I track and strength activity that I don't track because I don't have time to tailor it to my needs.

Personal Information:
I'm a professor, but I'll be retiring at the end of 2012. I love to grow my own food. Over the last year I have learned to do a lot of my own renovations on the house we bought for our retirement.

You have done excellent with your weight loss. Did you follow a particular program or simply just changed to eating a more clean diet? I yo-yo so much. I can eat clean for a while, then mess up and binge eat, ruining everything I have accomplished. Very frustrating, but I refuse to give up. Great job. You should post some photos. You're a real inspiration!!

Thanks for your comment on my blog! The fishing game on the rower should be the same on all C2 rowers that you find in gyms. If you go to the "menu", there should be an option for "games", and if you go there, there's a fishing game, a dart game, and a couple others. I've heard the dart game is pretty cool too. I've only tried the fishing game so far. It diverted my attention, and I found that I rowed harder too! Definitely give it a try. :)
