Welcome to my page! I am restarting my blog as a way to share my weight loss thoughts, dreams, ups, downs and motivation with other Sparkers! (Other people just don't get it!)

I lost 40 pounds with Sparkpeople in 2011. Since then 15 pounds crept back on, so now that I am back on track my first goal is to banish those 15. :)

My Goals:
I want to lose 15 pounds by the end of August. Run a half marathon in September.

My Program:
I focus on eating healthier and aim for 30-60 minutes of activity each day! I row twice a week on a team, run at least twice a week, and fill in the other days with other activities like biking, swimming, Kinect fitness, horseback riding, or Pilates!

Personal Information:
I live in Canton, Ohio with my 4-year-old daughter. I recently returned to grad school for my JD/MPA.

Other Information:
I used to think being athletic was something you were born with - I have recently come to realize that it is something you DO!

Wow, you DO have a full plate... and that's before adding law school at night! Wishing you enough sleep, good nutrition and don't forget to take a break from briefing every hour to do some aerobic activity or stretching for a few minutes. It'll pay off.

“The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation. Just do it. Exercise, lose weight, test your blood sugar, or whatever. Do it without motivation. And then, guess what? After you start doing the thing, that's when the motivation comes and makes it easy for you to keep on doing it.”
-John C. Maxwell

"The common conception is that motivation leads to action, but the reverse is true....action precedes motivation. You have to "prime the pump" and get the juice flowing, which motivates you to work on your goals. Getting momentum going is the most difficult part of the job, and often taking the first step is enough to prompt you to make the best of your day."

"Making changes in your life is never an easy task. The key, however, is not to get caught up in the distance you have to go to get to where you want to be. Nor should you despair over the amount of control you have over your circumstances. Progress is made in the small, intentional steps, and chances are, you have more power than you think. By focusing on little steps you can take every day, the progress you make will motivate you to continue your journey, and eventually, you can go wherever you want to go. The important thing is simply to begin."
-Stephen Cherniske

Hugs,
Pixie
