Live in northeastern Montana.

One of my Spark friends had this on his status (4/28/2016) -- THENEWMICHAEL "When it comes to measuring progress, the mirror is a better instrument than the scale."
WOW!!! That is something we all need to take to heart!

We all have a whoops day. Its what you do the day after that counts... Kaliswalker

JOHAL52 is still in a holding pattern over life. But that's okay--sometimes holding patterns can lead to growth--it's up to me :) -- Her status for 2Aug11 -- A small comment that speaks volumes.

CATINCJ Never set your goals at some else's pace or evaluate your performance by someone else's standards. Added 2May13 from her feed that day.

My Goals:
To exercise more, get more toned, and get to a healthier weight. I would like to stave off any joint problems in legs and hips.

Another goal which I have is to get rid of a lot of the "stuff" I possess, way more than I need to have.

My Program:
Portion Control - although I haven't been real successful in doing this, I am more aware of what portions are and try to stick with them most of the time.

I use the nutrition tracker and follow no particular weight loss diet, just try to get more freggies, less carbs and fat. I have been customizing the "my favorites" list to include the foods I use the most. I have been also making use of the exercise tracker, getting at least 10 minutes of cardio every day. I try to do some strength trainig 3 days a week.

Personal Information:
I live in Northeastern Montana. I work more than full time at a desk job. I spend way too much time on the computer...

Jan, 2016 -- All of this still holds true.

Other Information:
Am a cat person. Like to knit, sew, quilt, garden -- but don't seem to get much of them done.

2/24/2013 -- Several fiber craft people have been meeting during lunch hour once a week to work on projects, visit, and show off our latest projects. We also share techniques when someone has a problem with their project. Some are also starting into spinning using drop spindles.

We got 4 inches of wet, heavy snow. I shoveled it off. Back down to the cement again except for a berm of ice formed when the whole snow pack came sliding off the patio cover. But I did get a whole bunch of it chipped away. It was about 5 feet wide and 6 inches deep and is now about 18 inches wide and 2 inches deep. Hopefully Mother Nature will help me get it all off by mid-week. I have water coming in one basement window but can't really see where it's originating? I'm ready for Spring but I don't think it's in the near future. I'm not unhappy with the freeze-thaw method that is going on. If not for the refreeze at night I think we'd be in for serious flooding! Was sure surprised when I saw all that snow this morning!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day. Hope you are enjoying the weekend? Here's another Irish Blessing..."May your day be filled with blessings like the sun that lights the sky and may you always have the courage to spread your wings and fly!"

I spent the day getting ice jams out of the rain gutters and chipping ice away from the sidewalks! At least it was 40 degrees today...having a heat wave! Put my corned beef in the oven early so it was just falling apart and went really well with the cabbage and carrots and parsnips and turnips and tiny potatoes.

"Eating enough fruits and vegetables provides a number of health benefits, including reducing the risk of chronic disease, heart disease and weight management, just to name a few. Even though we know these benefits, many of us still struggle to get enough servings of fruits and veggies daily. Add extra veggies to soups and stews, add smoothies to your breakfast rotation, and have cut up fruits and veggies on hand when you need a quick snack. How can you add two extra servings of fruits and/or veggies to your meal plan today?"
*Stole this from the SP article on the "Realistic Resolutions Challenge". It's a 30 day challenge and I'm on my 2nd time through. Keep thinking if I do these often enough it will just become automatic!

emoticon The decorations in Butte are over the top already!! St Paddy's in Butte used to be on my bucket list! Now I'm too old for that crap!! Just spent Monday nite in Butte&did a little sight seeing! They said we got their winter!! Had freezing fog from about Box Elder to Carter on Monday. Then clear blue sky& much warmer temps! Very little snow in GTF, Helena or Butte!! Here at Chico we sat outside the pool in our swimsuits taking in the rays this afternoon! It was over 50!! Nipped up when that sun went down. I've never been here before. Very nice place...but it's brown& kind of muddy. Bet it's gorgeous when it's all greened up! They've started spinach& peas in their greenhouse!

Will get up in the morning, go for a swim, eat breakfast & begin the trip back to Havre. A stop in Livingston, then Costco in Helena (both of those are my friend, Paul's stops), then TJMaxx in GTF so hopefully can return some slippers I got my mom for Christmas!! With all the snow seems impossible I haven't been to GTF since Jan 2nd on !y way to a VA doctor appointment, but I haven't!! Ready to go home&face more snow now! Sounds like it's coming Wednesday night into Thursday morning! I suspect we'll be home about 8 p.m.?
