Looking for the Princess in Me

I was lucky as a child. I could eat anything, and I was "just the right size" After I had my daughter, my body changed. Each corner I turned, there was an extra pound. Now, at the age of 57, I am 100 pounds overweight.

I'm losing the weight for me. For my health. I am tired of feeling sick and tired. I'm tired of my knees hurting, tired of not being able to touch the floor, tired of not being able to bend over. . .

My Goals:
Each month I will strive to lose 5% of my body weight. My first goal is 15 pounds.

Make better choices when eating.

To exercise on a regular basis.

To sleep at night, without the use of medication.

My Program:
Like many overweight people, I have a problem monitoring my intake of foods. . and exercising. I know that when I am bored, I will eat more than my weekly alottment!!

Personal Information:
I am single, live in West Palm Beach, FL.

Have a 32 year old daughter, great son-in-law, and two beautiful grandangels!



Other Information:
I love to read. . murder mysteries are my favorite.

I am an avid card maker. . love to make cards. It's a good feeling when friends and coworkers enjoy my work.

Hello! Welcome to the Champions in the Kitchen Fall Challenge! The Summer Challenge was my first experience with this group. It was a lot of fun, interesting, and chocked full of support along the way by a great bunch of sparkers.

Today they've asked us to share our strategies for success. I'm sticking with what worked for me over the Summer Challenge, as I lost 5%, and lost weight each week, all while managing a record number of food events over the 8 weeks; the management of the food events was remarkable. For me, two things were key: I restricted my calories daily to 1200-1300 and stuck to my food plan of lean proteins, most of my carbs were fruits and vegetables, with 2 servings of bread over the course of the day. Food event days were less strict on food content, but I made myself stick to the 1200-1300 calories a day. Was it easy? No, but worth it. Patience is sooooo key.

The way I plan for success is by packing gym bag and lunch night before work. Then I go straight to my gym after work. I found going home first led to frequent items taking place of work outs
