I joined SparkPeople. Which was back in 2013. A lot of things have changed since then and I guess I should change my page because visitors think I still have the defeated attitude I had when I first started. Not at all! I still worry about my hair but I still get my workout in and have to take extra care because that's where I sweat the most and I sweat A LOT. I like keeping these pictures because it reminds me of where I started from. I probably need to add some updated pictures so people can see I haven't completed my main goal which is to lose 100 pounds but I have lost about 70 lbs in the process. I did run that 5k in under an hour and I still try to run as much as I can. I'm still working on my degree and recently started a new job so time is precious and I workout when I can but I still log my meals everyday.

My Goals:
My goal is to train for a 5k and actually learn to like exercising again. -2013 Achieved

To continue working out despite my crazy school and work schedules. -2017

My Program:
I've got a program through my medical provider, who is actually sponsoring the training. -2013

Walking and running on the treadmill, 21 Day Fix Extreme, and free weights. Gotta stay toned. -2017

Personal Information:
My husband and I are doing this program together but he's a little bit of a "workout bully" which is the one thing that gets me UN-motivated. I just hope we can do this and still remain best friends... -2013

My husband needs knee replacement surgery but the doctor says he's too young. He still tries to workout but not as hard. He's not so much a "workout bully" anymore but he prefers for us to workout together. We're still best friends. -2017

Other Information:
I work full time and I'm a student at the Univeristy of Michigan-Dearborn so my time is very tight and limited. I am a believer in Jesus Christ and it's going to take HIM and a host of angels to help me make it through this program and reach my goals. -2013

This hasn't changed. Next year at this time I will have completed my degree. GO BLUE!!

    P.S. - A good heart rate monitor is an EXCELLENT thing. I have a Wahoo Tickr X. Then, with my cellphone, I "pair" it with several fitness apps I downloaded onto my phone, and those apps use the heart rate monitor feedback (coming from ME) to inform me, and train me, and let me know, based on my heartbeat, which days are BETTER (or worse) for which kinds of exercise. The HRM (heart rate monitor) also keeps me MOTIVATED, big time, all day long, by telling me how many CALORIES I have burned, and what physical exertion level I am in. And the fitness apps SAVE all that info for me to look at, save and use later, or share with my doctor, or with my personal trainer. ALL THAT for the price of one little heart rate monitor. Keep on steppin'!!!
