At my last annual check-up, I told my doctor that I would like to lose 25-30 pounds. He was quite frank with me and said that at 46, now is the time to get to the weight where I want to be for the rest of my life. The closer I get to menopause, the harder it will be to lose even 1-2 pounds.

I find it hard to both eat healthy and exercise at the same time. Iíve read enough to know that they both go together to get the best benefits, but I usually make time for one and not the other. I have trouble staying motivated after I lose 5-10 pounds.

I have been a Spark member since September of 2012, but really only used it to get new recipes. This time I am making the choice to work harder at eating healthier and getting a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio 3 times a week. I donít want to set myself up for failure right before the holidays so Iím going to ease myself into it. I wonít get upset with myself if I go a little over the next few weeks, but after the holidays, it is game on! Iíve read so many success stories. If they can do it, it can be done. I want that for myself.

My Goals:
Goal weight: 145lbs
Get healthier, feel better and look better.


My Program:
Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
Alternate cardio on the Treadclimber with strength training.
Count my calories.

Personal Information:
I am 46 years old and live in West Virginia. I have been married for 27 years with 2 kids, a boy (25) and girl (22).
I have a Yorkie named Max and a black cat named Blackberry.
I have worked at my company for 29 years.

Other Information:
My husband and I have a Forest River 5th wheel and enjoy camping as often as possible. We are members of FROG (Forest River Owners Group). I'm counting down to spring.
I also like to read and travel. I love many kinds of music and sing in my church choir.
