My name is Lauren and I used to be a SparkPeople junkie!
I battled weight/self image issues all my life, but recently have had some changes...For some reason, I have come to accept myself for who I am! I am OK with my body, what I eat, an the amount of working out that gets done!
During my college years I was obsessed with working out and eating healthy--to the point where it wasn't mentally healthy (this obsession and dietary changes did help me lose and keep off about 20 lbs!). Once I entered the "real world" I realized there was much more to life than working out and eating a restricted diet. SO, for the past three years or so, I have eaten OK, done SOME workouts, and am happier than I have ever been!
That being said, I feel that it is time to push myself-yes, I am happy with me, but want to see if I can upgrade a little bit-more a "Lauren 2.0".
I really want to challenge myself and see if I can lose just a little bit more! I have always wanted to be 135 (I know...the number on the scale isn't that important), but I think I am ready to attempt this!
I live in a VERY isolated town (the nearest gym is 30 minutes away). So I have stocked up on workout DVDs-yoga, sculpting, and even some games for our playstation that get me up and moving! I am not ready to commit hardcore to working out, but every little bit helps!!
I am a high school social studies teacher in a rural town in Colorado. My husband is a police officer in the same area. We would like to get back to civilzation in the near future (probably next spring) so we can start a family!

I recently started the same type of weight traing program. Even though I last weighed 140, after a binge week, I still am in a size 6. It is weird because the way I binge I go up or down every other week. I am pro weights. I love the look...wish I could just loose this 10 lb fat layer!

Good for you thinking of planning your meals. I used to think it was too much like dieting, but then I thought, well, lots of slim people have to know ahead of time what to bring for lunch, and a lot of them probably plan at least in general what to buy when shopping for a week's groceries, so I did it for a long time. Now I just use my three plates, but I have a pretty good idea ahead of time what I'm going to have just from what's in my fridge and cabinets. I can still wing it pretty easily, if the need arises.

Lauren, do you know what the International Baccalaureate program is? For middle and high schoolers, the goal is for students to be able to earn college credit before they leave high school. I teach one class of English to seniors. Talk about spilling coffee. I spilled coffee on about 10 student papers that I had collected to submit to evaluators in another state. Other people laughed when I told them, but it was as close to crying as have come at work in 14 years. I hated having to tell kids what I did and that they had to reprint copies for me. But it's over now and the papers are ready to be mailed Tuesday morning...

Those are excellent goals... and I'm really impressed you get up at 5! I hope that means you are getting 8 hours of sleep though ;)
What do you do for work? If possible maybe you shouldn't keep snacks at your desk unless they are baby carrots or something, hehe...
I want to be at my goal weight by November! That's about 17 pounds, but I've never lost more than 5 per month so it might take me 3 months. I'm determined to work harder and track more carefully.
How do you want to keep each other accountable?!
