2016's new Goal

Hi my name is Sandy and I have struggled with my weight all of my life. Yo-yoing anywhere between a size 12 and 22. I have had many ups and downs with sparkpeople. I start off 2015 at 232 pounds my heaviest to date. My goal was to lose 88 pounds. I finished off 2015 at 2013 pounds. I had gotten down to 208 but the holidays hit and I gained some.

Because of health related issues (blood sugars and cholesterol) my dotor has put me on qsymia which should help me reach my goal. My goal is to eat 1200 - 1400 calories a day, exercise 6 days a week.

I still have a long way to go to reach my goal weight in 2016 and but I am sure I can do it with focus and alot of exercise.

My kids are my life and I want to make sure that I get to enjoy many years with them and potential grandchildren. So now is the time to get it together and stay motivated and focused on my goal.

My 2016 goals are to participate in a couple 5K's, drink more water, lose 50 pounds this year, set a good example for my children with eating and exercise, and stay on my spiritual journey remembering daily how to live a better life and treating others how I would like to be treated.

emoticon Sorry on the loss of your friend. You sound prepared for the events that will celebrate your friends life, which as you stated usually revolve around food. The exercise will be a good way to deal with some of the stress that may come your way as well.

Doing well staying on track with eating and exercise, down 2# but will only believe it if next week I am down further. My body has this tendency to lose 2 gain 3 with fluctuations. In general, just feeling good that I am being consistent with exercise.

Take Care,

Ugh - had a whole paragraph written out and then kaboom just gone. Anyway, hope your daughter got to pick out a fun cast color and that the healing is on course.
Would imagine that weekends would be more challenging as you are feeding everyone and the kids probably want something different than you would make if you were just feeding yourself. Sounds like you are making up for the weekends with good dedication to healthy eating and exercise during the other 5 days of the week, so hopefully it all balances out. You have a lot on your plate, so just keep juggling and know you are moving in a forward direction.
Keeping up with my self goal of increasing aerobic exercise and if I don't get it done before I get home, then trying to make it a priority when I get in the door or it will be to late after I eat dinner.

Didn't get home until late yesterday so no workout - 12 hours work/study and then had to come home cook some food and crashed like a zombie. Didn't log it but walked around seeing snow sculptures at one of our WI tourist towns on Friday evening, was more of a mental relaxation and socialization than a workout.
Anyway, pleasantly surprised to get home before dark today and since sun was out, went for a great walk. Irony, was walking behind this couple for a while and was so glad they turned a corner, as he was smoking a cigar - YUCK I can't stand the smell. So here I was out for fresh air only to be breathing in his smoke!
Back to a regular work week on Monday and the routine or aerobic, strength training etc. Weight up,down and this am back up a couple of pounds - getting old this cycle I seem to be in (despite increased exercise and staying within calories for food).
What is a skinny pizza by the way?

Doing well with workouts, ran out of time at the end of my day so I chose aerobic since I am trying to increase from 3x week to 5x week and I will occasionally fluctuate with strength training from 3x week to 2x week. Just knowing that you are checking has given me more accountability.
Frustrated that I will wear something ( a skirt today) and then put jeans on and the skirt is baggy yeah but the jeans still tight so then I question if I have made any changes as I know the scale hasn't changed (up down up all within a couple of pounds). Calories, fats staying within range, carbs usually within or a little low and proteins/fiber more often than not low, so feeling nutrition is going well as in the past fats were always a big challenge. Sometimes I think I must just be toning and so slower to see changes that must :) be happening somewhere in my body.
Glad you are getting in your workouts and hope you are happy with the scale on Friday.

There are some times where we make the best decision we can at the time and vending machines certainly make it challenging to eat healthy ( and darn it if you are going to splurge pretty sure it wouldn't be vending machine food). Glad it was only the one day and lets hope no more injuries for your family.
Hope you get your wish and the end of the week your hard work shows on the scale or in some other way - clothes fit better, you feel better - something positive!
This is my week to try adding extra time or just more days of the week that I do cardio, so far on track. So looking ahead and hoping that in a few weeks that becomes apparent same thing as you scale, clothes etc...
