This is me at about 311 lbs. I never thought I'd get this big. I am 5 ft 3 in. No makeup, no glasses

I am a mom, grandma, and wife (divorced and reconciled). I am 59 years old. Will be 60 in August. Just a bit of a mile stone. I live in Missouri. I love my home state and home town; was born and raised here. I have a daughter, a son and 7 grandchildren. My 16 year old grandson recently came to live with me; I am in the process of adopting him. I raised him for the first 6 years of his life as well. He is so very special to me but he can be a challenge. My grandchildren are a wonderful spark in my life and come June I will be a great-grandma. My oldest granddaughter is expecting. I was diagnosed with COPD in November of 2010. I smoked for 25 years...I quit in November of 1994 but the damage was already done. Getting very ill in the winters of 2008, 2009 and 2010 finished off my lungs. But I didn't know there was a problem with my lungs until I was diagnosed in 2010. I wasn't very good about going to doctors until I got so sick in 2010. Shame on me. I praise the LORD for taking the habit from me in 1994 or I might not be here today. I have struggled with my weight since I was 14 years old. I have gained more weight since I was diagnosed with COPD. Definitely the wrong direction for me to be going in. I found SP a little more than a week ago. I love this web site. I think with all the tools, information and support SP has to offer and the wonderful SP members I will be able to succeed with my weight loss program. My plan is to lose 80 lbs in 2012 and the rest in 2013. All together I want to lose 159 lbs. So here I go....

My Goals:
My goal is to lose 159 lbs. Improve my breathing . And be able to increase my physical activity

My Program:
I am using the Nutrition Tracker so I can track the food I eat and my calorie intake. I also like looking at the reports.

I have created a fitness exercise program but my main exercise at this time is steps and walking.

I read the SP community boards a lot. I have joined some teams and challenges.

Personal Information:
I am from a small town in West-Central Missouri where I was born and raised. When I was younger I lived in a couple of other states but Missouri is home and I don't ever plan to leave again.

I am disabled with COPD and I am on oxygen 24/7. I quit smoking in Nov of 1994 but was diagnosed with COPD in Nov of 2011. However, I still thank the Lord my God for my life. If he hadn't taken the habit from me in 1994 my health would be much worse or I might be dead. So thank you my Heavenly Father and my LORD and Savior

I am hoping that losing weight will improve my breathing and I will be able to handle physical activity better. I know I will feel better.

Other Information:
Before I became disabled I worked in bookkeeping/accounting. I did payroll and did quarterly and year end taxes for over 200 customers.

I love to read books especially mysteries. I am also on the computer alot.

I do love to get out and walk. I used to be able to walk 3 miles a day. Now I just try for a quarter to half mile. Some days I can't do it at all. I am hoping that will improve with weight loss.
