Mizliz: making choices for change

My Goals:
I've always struggled with weight, and yet have always been active. I want to weigh 130, and stay fit and active in the back half of my life.

My Program:
I am a triathlete so fitness is a lifestyle for me. My weakness is portion control. I have successfully lost weight in the past on a low carb eating program and feel the sparkpeople tools will help me stick to my plan.

Personal Information:
I'm now in Las Cruces, New Mexico to be near our grandkids after my husbands retirement! We love our new house, are looking for a new church, and are the proud "parents" of two sweet, playful kitties.

Thanks so much for the goodie! And I'm so glad you're interested in checking out Gary Taubes' books, too!

You know, it's one thing to "feel" that low carb lifestyles are healthy and make us feel better, but it's really empowering to have someone actually explain WHY they're healthy for us and make us feel better.

I'm pretty active at the Living Low Carb (Atkins and Other Plans) team if you're interested in checking it out. VERY helpful, active group, and not a lot of fanatacism, though LOTS of enthusiasm.

Bought Chia seeds a few days ago. I like it in yogurt and I've also just mixed it with water and let it stand for 10 minutes. It seems to help when I've got a workout planned.
