My weightloss journey

In October of 2004, I was at my heaviest weight ever 210-215 pounds. Not sure which, cause at that point I was afraid to get on the scale. I had been traveling for work all the time, not working in one place. In October of 04 I started working in one restaurant close to home. In January or February, I went to the Dr for a checkup and I was down to 200 pounds. I couldn't believe it, I had lost 10 or 15 pounds without even trying! Being on my feet all day, and not sitting in the car eating all ...

In January or February, I went to the Dr for a checkup and I was down to 200 pounds. I couldn't believe it, I had lost 10 or 15 pounds without even trying! Being on my feet all day, and not sitting in the car eating all the time was the secret!
In July of 2005 I had a car accident, wasn't hurt, but it led to me having some medical tests done. I had one minor operation in August and in November 2004 I had open heart surgery. Now I have made lifestyle changes cause I had to. I eat low fat, low calorie, low cholesterol and I exercise regularly. I went through cardiac rehab, which got me back into the habit of working out, but Sparkpeople along with the support of my wonderful husband, is what has really kept me on track. I am not on a diet, I have changed my way of life. My husband is with me on this journey, which really helps and makes it easier. His support is so important to me.

01/21/07 The past couple months I haven't lost any weight. Gained a couple pounds back, but now I am on the right track again and back down to 163. Still wearing my size 12's!! I have reshaped my body, but I still have a way to go!!!

Well, here I am again! I have gained back almost all the weight that I lost and I am totally annoyed with myself. I don't know why I can't keep it off. I read the articles and I know what I need to do, I just don't do it. My niece is getting married in June and I am her Matron of Honor. I have got to get this weight back off, to look better and for my health. Wish me luck! I am setting my goal weight at 160 this time. That's what I have gotten down to about 3 or 4 times now. I keep trying to get lower than that, and that is when I fail. This time, no matter what the 'experts' say, I am going to be happy with 160...just look at how good my butt looked at that weight!

Here I am again...I am sick of doing this! I vowed over and over again to not do the YoYo, but I keep doing it! I read Dr. Wayne Dyer's 'Excuses Begone' I actually got it thinking that it would help me with my work life, but as I listened to the book, I realized that he was talking to me about my weight and health! I felt truly enlightened by listening to the words of the author. I can do this, it will be easy! I did it before, I know I can do it again.

A good plan for today is better than a great plan for tomorrow.

Look backward with satisfaction and look forward with confidence.

Performing the magic

Every step you take on the journey gets you that much closer to your destination. Every purposeful effort you make brings you closer and closer to your goal.

When you are taking intentional, directed action, you are making progress. You are creating the very rewards you seek.

When you become weary, take a moment to remind yourself why you’ve chosen to go where you’ve chosen to go. When you feel a tinge of discouragement, overwhelm it with positive anticipation for the good and valuable place where you’re headed.

Not only can you do it, you are doing it. You are performing the magic of transforming dreams into reality.

What you’re doing is difficult and burdensome in some ways. And yet it is also truly amazing, because you’re creating value that never existed before.

Continue the effort, continue to persist, and continue performing the magic. And delight in the outstanding rewards it brings.

— Ralph Marston

I hope you haven't given up. It looks like a while since you last posted anything.

Time to come back and make it happen. I too, have been there many times,
and know that I can do it.

My body is now telling me that I must do it, since my knees are not able
to function properly with all this excess weight. emoticon
