I've visualized it. I already know this is going to happen, I'm just putting in the work to get there. I did my homework for the first time before starting such a journey, I'm going out of my way to seek support, and this time it's all going to come together for me.

The photos on my page are part of my visualization exercise. I add more to my gallery depending on the inspiration and what I'm looking for in my life at the time. It's a work in progress but it gives me something to focus on besides the image in the mirror that at the moment betrays the "real" me on the inside.

I found this poem on someone's page and felt I needed this reminder this week....

DON'T QUIT- Author Unknown

When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down
and you feel like the biggest failure in town
When you want to give up just because you gave in
and forget all about being healthy and thin..
SO WHAT! You went over your calories a bit
It's your next move that counts- so DON'T YOU QUIT!
It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change
It's learning the skills to get back in your range
It's telling yourself, "You've done great up 'til now!
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow!"
It's part of your journey towards reaching your goal
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control
To stumble and fall is not a disgrace
if you summon the will to get back in the race
But often the strugglers, when losing their grip,
just throw in the towel and continue to slip,
and learn too late when the damage is done
that the race wasn't over- they still could have won
Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
but facing each challenge will help you to grow
Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tint in a cloud of doubt
When you're pushed to the brink, just refuse to submit
If you bite it, you write it... but DON'T YOU QUIT!

My Goals:
I'm hoping to shed the extra weight, gain strength and endurance and prepare my body to take on the challenge of conceiving a child in the next year.

My Program:
Wii Fit got me off the couch 2 months ago and I've been pretty consistent with it since. I walk my dogs about 3-5 miles daily and recently started the Couch to 5K program in the hopes of actually being a "runner" someday, at least to some degree.

I know I need to begin incorporating more strength training into my routine in the coming months and plan on researching a gym to join soon.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area on the Peninsula.

Congratulations on your first 20 minute run! That's awesome!

I'm still worried about doing mine next week. It would have been this week, but I hurt my foot last week and didn't get to run much. So I'm just repeating week 4 this week.

"If you went running when you first started thinking about it, you'd be back by now."

"Others aren't staring at you. They're thinking how they should be running, too."

"Someone who is busier than you is running right now."

Thank you for the encouragement. You're making some awesome progress yourself!

I really like Power 90. I don't always feel that way right before a workout, but I always get through them. Unfortunately thanks to some period issues (I always get sick during that time of the month...) I've missed a few days, but doing C25k alongside P90 creates a pretty good buffer zone for me. I think P90 is a good way of getting the structure to put both my strength training and my cardio in. I also like that gradual improvements on the workout are very easy to notice over time. There were some segments of the cardio that I simply could NOT get through without stopping and breaking into a jog in place instead, but now I can get through all of it with only minor modifications.

Congratulations on your weight loss and your lifestyle changes! Looks like you've already lost the equivalent weight of the average two-year old!
