I joined SparkPeople in '06, after reaching my highest weight ever (at that time). I felt disgusted with myself and couldn't handle the thought of living my life as an inactive, overweight, and depressed person. I had gained 40 lbs in a year (not to mention that I was overweight to begin with).

After losing 45 lbs and keeping it off for about 5 years, I slowly gained 25 lbs back over the past year, and then quickly gained another 20 in just 3 months! Mostly from a busy lifestyle - only being able to sleep for 2-6 hours a night, not being able to exercise as much as I like to, and eating a lot of calorie-dense, high carb foods. I then had an invasive surgery and couldn't exercise at all for 2 months (not to mention likely depression from the unplanned surgery, recovery, and scarring) and gained 10 more lbs.

I'm recommitting to living a healthy lifestyle - one that focuses on diet and mindset as much as exercise (aka the stuff I don't like/ is hard as well as the fun stuff!:)

"You are capable and worthy of being and doing anything.
You just need the discipline and determination to see it through.
It won't come instantly, and you may backslide from time to time, but don't let that deter you.
Never give up. Life is an ever-changing process, and nothing is final.
Therefore, each moment and every new day is a chance to begin anew."
