Merritt's Odyssey

I refuse to believe that weight gain is inevitable after menopause, that stress, cortisol, lack of sleep and all those other excuses are actual reasons. My goals are: to carry a 50lb. backpack up and down the Grand Canyon, to salsa dance all evening, to lift grandchildren with no problem and to have a flat belly while doing it.
Yes, life has thrown me more than its share of curve balls, but that's no reason to give up!

My Goals:
I still want to be strong first, slim second, but this year I'm getting serious about the slim part because I DO NOT want to haul 20 extra pounds around!
My first goal is a 50 mile charity ride with a killer hill. My second goal will be a sprint triathalon in September. I will continue my Yoga and revisit my Salsa. I really need to up the cardio workouts!

My Program:
I joined weight watchers yesterday (1/13/10) and our first meeting is next week. I've upped my strength training to twice a week. My bike is on a trainer and my goal is at least a 30 minute ride 3 times a week. The running will come later.
