Your Body Is Your Temple: Achieve A Total Healthy Body

Most of my young life was spent at a healthy weight until I began attending graduate school. I was not aware that my lack of proper eating while I was younger would impact my adult life in such a negative manner. My Goals:
My overall goal is to lose weight so that I can have a healthier body. I would like to get in 8 glasses of water daily, eat more fruits and vegetables and exercise at least 5 days per week.

My Program:
I plan to start exercising on a regular basis 5 days a week. I love to walk and I have asked a neighbor to go with me on daily morning walks beginning Monday of next week (3/16/09). I joined SparkPeople for support and motivation to achieve these goals. I have also kicked sweets out of my diet plan (i.e., cookies, pie, cake, candy, etc.)

Personal Information:
I am from St. Louis, Missouri, I was born and raised here and I love the outdoors. This is my reason for choosing walking as an exercise. It is also free and it doesn't cost a thing. I live in the Central West End area and it is one of the most popular areas in the city of St. Louis. I am hoping there are other members from this area on SparkPeople; maybe we can start a walking club. I would love to do that with some other people.

Other Information:
I love to read. It is very difficult for me to pick a favorite book because I have read so many good and well written books. I also like to write. I love movies and I have seen some great ones I have many favorites. One of my favorites is the Titanic.

We'll meet at 9, right after opening/gather on the benches just inside the entrance-we can walk as a large group, or break up & meet back at a central location around noon, if not sooner...I'm hoping it won't be unbearably hot, but should be shade, anyway!

Summer 2010 St. Louis Spark People Rally!!!

OK, so how's the MO Botanical Garden on July 17 at 9 a.m. sound? We could meet at the Visitor's Center and walk around for 2 hours-there's a 'Health Fair' going on the same day, too! If you're a resident of St. Louis County or St. Louis City, admission is FREE before noon-otherwise it's $8 for adults...the place opens at 9 a.m., so it wouldn't be quite as hot then, but we could do 10 as well...lots to do/see here & plenty of walking exercise & time to get to know fellow STL 'Sparkers'!!!
