I am a pumper and love it. I have been on the pump for about 9 years. I unfortunately thought with the pump you could eat anything and well we all know what happens then. THE POUNDS ADD UP. Well now I am working hard to get the weight off, lost 15 lbs since the end of February and looking to drop another 15 to 20 lbs. I feel great compared to a year ago. 15 lbs weighs a lot more than a person would think. 2901 days ago
Hi, Margaret. I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a 61 year old grandma living on my own, finally accepting that I have a disease that can kill me or that I can take control of by eating properly. I volunteered to help out as administrator of this team, since I have more free time than people with families to care for.
I have always been a cook and a baker and am now finding ways to adjust my old favorite recipes to fit my new (for the rest of my life) nutrition plan. I think diet is a "four letter word" with negative connotations and a word that produces guilt and feelings of deprivation. I have half my body weight to lose, and although it is slow going right now, I am getting there, one day at a time!
Let me know how I can help. I tend to just jump in , so if there is a plan, let me know.
I am looking for a team to join -I am a mother of a type 1 diabetic son (age 10). I am struggling with my weight (of coarse) and learning how to cook and support his disease. Is your team right for me as a caregiver and not a diabetic myself? Thanks. 2999 days ago
