To a Healthy and Fit 2014!

I'm very excited for all the good possibilities coming this year! It feels like, for the first time in years, I'll be back on track.

I had (non-invasive) foot surgery four years ago that actually made my feet worse than they were before, but now I'm not going to let my disability stand in the way of living a healthier life!

Unfortunately, post-surgery I gained back much of the weight I lost in the year prior, and it's a different kind of weight - it might sound ...

Unfortunately, post-surgery I gained back much of the weight I lost in the year prior, and it's a different kind of weight - it might sound weird, but it's fatter, somehow. I still don't weigh as much as I did at my worst, but I look way fatter.

This year that is going to change! It just feels so good to know that :)

Over the last few years I feel like my health has gone way downhill (I know my weight increase added to my lack of physical activity really contributed to this). The type of surgery I had definitely didn't help, either. But I know at least SOME (hopefully all, fingers-crossed!) of my health problems would be helped by losing weight and increasing my physical fitness, so I'm incredibly excited for that to happen!

Good luck to every one else in their journey too! We're all on the road to reaching our goals! Doesn't it feel good?

My Goals:
My goal is pretty simple: to get healthier. I want to feel good! I want to be able to do more. I don't want my physical self to hinder my choices anymore.

My Program:
For the time being my program is going to be: to act consciously. I am tracking what I do and what I eat to ensure that everything is a conscious decision. I am also choosing at least one activity a day to increase my energy level.

Personal Information:
My name is Amanda and I'm in my 30's. I'm ready to be healthy and Sparkpeople has helped me before. So far I've only really used the solo tools: the trackers and sparkpoints, but I'm thinking maybe if I use the socially interactive features of the site that will help me even more.
