Hello fellow Sparkies and thank you for stopping by my page. Like many of us, I have struggled with weight loss for most of my life. It seems like I have been riding on a nonstop roller coaster ride, but its time to get off. I am a breast cancer survivor that was recently diagnosed with pre-diabetes. My doctor gave me an option to either lose weight, exercise, watch my carbohydrate and sugar intake or start taking medication to lower my glucose levels. I decided to take the first option by watching what I eat and being more active. For me following a nutritional & low calorie food program is not as challenging as exercising. Most of the things I do enjoy are sedentary activities, such reading, doing needlework, and solving crossword puzzles. Hopefully the Spark People Community can help motivate me to start moving and become more physically fit.

Personal Information:
My name is Margaret. I am from the beautiful island, Puerto Rico and raised in New York City. Two years ago I returned to the island as a retiree. I love New York so I travel back and forth between my two favorite places.
Other Information:
I enjoy reading, doing cross stitch needlepoint and my new found hobby is gardening. The good thing about living on a tropical island is that you can grow just about anything all year round. I'm learning by trial & error, but find it gratifying to see the fruits of my labor.
