Hi, my name is Kelli. I'm over 50 now and still find it difficult to lose weight even following all the great advice I get here. I've always had to be careful about what I ate and how much I exercised, yet somehow the weight kept creeping on starting in my late 30s. Now that I've been a member of SP since 2006, the weight is slowly coming off. I just do the things I'm willing to do for the rest of my life. No more quick fix attempts!

My Goals:
I want to reach my ideal weight again at some point. However, that is not as important as how much better I feel since I've lost a lot of my extra weight and have been able to do the things I love once again.

My Program:
Tracking my food (calories, carbs, protien and fat) and increasing my activity level. At least 30 minutes of cardio daily and strength training 3 days a week.

Personal Information:
I started picking up the weight in my late 30s when it took me 4 years to realize I wasn't losing my Christmas weight each year (despite continuing to eat and exercise as I had always done). By then I had an extra 40 pounds on. I immediately started to watch more carefully what I ate and re-dedicate myself to more frequent exercise and activity. However, I had only taken 10 of those pounds off over the course of 7 years when I quit smoking and got married to a wonderful Italian cook in the same year (I don't recommend that). I also slacked off on my exercise for 4 years while building a new log home and landscaping figuring I should get enough exercise doing that. I managed to get up to over 200 (206) pounds for the first time in my life and I was miserable.

I used SparkPeople to lose 20 pounds in 2006, but lost interest. Re-dedicated myself in 2008 and have been losing gradually - even though I had a 3 year plateau at around 170 pounds!

Other Information:
I love animals! I have a dog and 4 cats!

    Hi Kelli, how are you today? Looking forward to chatting with you. I'm origanaly from Irwin, Pa. My husband and I moved down here to Morgantown about 4 years ago. He was traveling back and forth for 1 1/2 years till our lease was up and then we decided to move down here. But my heart is always in Pa. Any way it feels great to be on a team from HOME.
