I'm an artist, married for a long time with three grown kids. I have now lost 120 pounds. At my highest weight, my joints, everything hurt. I had days when I could not go downstairs and stayed in my room all day, and family members brought me my meals. Wow, that so could have gone on to resemble one of those horrid reality shows.

What happened? I got sick and tired of being sick and tired. Something just clicked for me. I started watching what I was eating and exercising some and lost about 50 or 60 pounds. Then I just kinda maintained that weight for about three years.

In September 2010 I decided to stop maintaining and get serious. I weighed 258. I joined Sparkpeople, logged my food and my fitness and just kept being consistent. Slowly but surely, the weight has been coming off and now I am celebrating being at the lowest weight in at least 25 years.

I'm celebrating all kinds of things these days...sitting down in ball parks and concert halls, for one thing. I actually FIT in those seats! With room to spare! Who knew?

I plan to keep at it, see how low I can go! I'd really love to have my weight start with a "1" (goal accomplished!), and then to move out of the "OBESE" category of the BMI charts.

Fitness Minutes: 22,300

My Goals:
Basically, my goal is just to be healthier and better able to do the things I'd like to do! I have osteoarthritis in my left knee, and the extra weight is bad for it, so basically I'm losing weight to make my knee happy, lol.

I'd like to weigh what my driver's license says I weigh. ;) GOAL ACCOMPLISHED!

I want to fit into size 14 jeans next. GOAL ACCOMPLISHED!!

Looking forward to size 13 jeans, which is the size I wore in high school.

I want to get out of the "obese" category in the BMI charts.

My Program:
Alternate Day diet.

Exercise: Currently I am walking 2-4 miles 3-5 times a week and doing Callanetics 3-5 times a week.

Still pondering jogging. Maybe this fall when I've lost some more weight and it cools down after the heat of summer. We'll see.
