Metamorphosis of tired & unhappy to energetic & thrilled!
Guess it's time to update my spark page...when I joined this community, I was a size 16...now I am between a 10 & 12. SUCCESS...FINALLY! I am a happily married mom to a "canine child" named Lacy. My husband & I have both lost weight because we are eating in, more frequently & I cook quite healthier, just making simple substitutions of lower fat, healthier ingredients, and my trusty digital food scales, weighing my portions. I lost a corporate office administrative ...
Guess it's time to update my spark page...when I joined this community, I was a size 16...now I am between a 10 & 12. SUCCESS...FINALLY! I am a happily married mom to a "canine child" named Lacy. My husband & I have both lost weight because we are eating in, more frequently & I cook quite healthier, just making simple substitutions of lower fat, healthier ingredients, and my trusty digital food scales, weighing my portions. I lost a corporate office administrative assisstant job due to corporate buyout, that I thought was the place I would be the rest of my life. I picked up the pieces by staying out of work for 2 years & traveling with my husband, a tour bus driver for Knoxville Tours. I have seen all but 11 of the United States. Also been to D.C., St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and San Juan Puerto Rico. Goes to show you that sometimes what you think is a tragedy can be a blessing in disguise!!! When we were on a cruise to the Eastern Carribean, I had a blast, but was totally bummed out by the pictures of how much weight I had gained. You walk aboard ship & see people in bathing suits & even through some are overweight, the fact that you don't have the confidence to get in one just does something to ya! A friend aboard ship with us told me about Sparkpeople...I checked it out...thought it seemed too complicated but kept plugging away at it & TAAAA DAAA!!! HERE I AM! Now I don't mind walking by a store window & seeing my reflection in the glass. Now I don't mind shopping for clothes again...it's actually FUN again! Now I am happy that my "lifestyle" has changed thanks to Sparkpeople giving me the tools, & God giving me the motivation & "stick-with-itness."

My Goals:
1. Get at stay at a healthy weight. 2. Get plenty of sleep at night. 3. Exercise, at least some. 4. Save money. 5. Cook more instead of eating out so much. 6. Pray every day for someone & thank God for what he has given us. 7. Spend, a minimum 15 minutes, every day doing some kind of housework.
My Program:
1. Toggle between the Spark recommended caloric & fat gram ranges. I use digital scales for this for every meal. 2. Eliminate all alcohol until half of goal weight is achieved. Then add back in within moderation as long as it's counted on tracker. 3. Drink 8 8 ounce glasses of water per day. Eliminate soda pops. 4. Add a splurge day once a week only after half of goal weight is achieved.
Personal Information:
Work in the banking industry, but in 2010 became a Registered Dental Asst with Radiology. Just need to find a job now. Got the most adorable canine child in the world HELLO...look at her! Very happily married!!! I love the Sex and the City, Desperate Housewives, Celebrity Apprentice, King of Queens, lots of Food Network shows, I Love Lucy, The Andy Griffith Show.
Other Information:
Just became a Christian in 2006! Love to cook and love to play pogo games online. Love to cook & flavor dishes with my home grown herbs.
