Yarns and Tales

I'm a homeschooling mom with two graduated and two more left to go. I love good books, especially classics, and have an ongoing affair with all fiber related arts. Currently am practicing and learning crochet, knitting, spinning with a drop-spindle and still do occasional needle-work. Would love to learn to tat and spin on a wheel!

From 2009-2010 I lost 56 pounds. Then I hit a wall, mentally, physically, and emotionally. I started to slowly regain. After a knee injury requiring surgery and spelling the end of my dream of running, I stopped trying until I regained most of the weight. I have kept off 20 of those 56 pounds for over two years though so at least I"m not starting totally back at square one or worse. I've struggled though to keep my weight in a 5-8 pound range for the past two years. I want more! I am looking to succeed at finally and permanently shedding enough pounds to restore my energy and health. So here I am, again, and the tale goes on.

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to get to a point of feeling fit and healthy regardless of the scale.

I've set a goal of 188 lb.s for the end of summer.
June- Concentrate on getting 3-5 fruits/veggies each day, exercise 3-5 days/week, and get up without snoozing.
July: 5-6 fruits/veggies each day, make snacks healthier, exercise 5-6days/week, and begin journal.
August: Continue fruits/veggies/healthy snacks, increase my daily exercise minutes by 5 minutes 3x/week.

My Program:
I started The Spark Solution June 24, and will follow it as well as my own goals above. Most are in the book anyway!

Personal Information:
Homeschooling for 16 years. Two graduated, two to go!
I'm an equal opportunity fiberist; enjoying crochet, knit, spinning, embroidery, and cross-stiching. Learning to tat and spin on a wheel instead of a spindle are on my bucket list.

Counting down to 2012...only 5 more days!!! Let's go out with a BANG! 1 pound challenge: Let's lose 1 pound by New Year's Day!

2012 will the the best year for me and my Sparkfriends. Many of us will reach our goals in 2012 and all of us will be healthier and feel better both physically and mentally.
