I'm a homeschooling mom with three graduated and one more left to go! I love good books, especially classics, and have an ongoing affair with all fiber related arts. Currently am practicing and learning crochet, knitting, spinning with a drop-spindle and still do occasional needle-work. Would love to learn to tat and spin on a wheel! From 2009-2010 I lost 56 pounds. Then I hit a wall, mentally, physically, and emotionally. I started to slowly regain. After a knee injury requiring surgery spelled the end of my dream of running, I stopped trying until I regained most of the weight. I kept off 20 of those 56 pounds for over three years until the summer of 2014 brought an unexpected jump in weight. I've struggled this year and am now only three pounds away from where I was before that spike. It's gotten a lot harder to lose, but I want and need to lose so much more just to be close to a healthy weight. I refuse to totally give up, so here I am still, and the tale goes on....

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to get to a point of feeling fit and healthy regardless of the scale.

I've set a goal of 188 lb.s for the end of summer.
June- Concentrate on getting 3-5 fruits/veggies each day, exercise 3-5 days/week, and get up without snoozing.
July: 5-6 fruits/veggies each day, make snacks healthier, exercise 5-6days/week, and begin journal.
August: Continue fruits/veggies/healthy snacks, increase my daily exercise minutes by 5 minutes 3x/week.

My Program:
I started The Spark Solution June 24, and will follow it as well as my own goals above. Most are in the book anyway!

Personal Information:
Homeschooling for 16 years. Two graduated, two to go!
I'm an equal opportunity fiberist; enjoying crochet, knit, spinning, embroidery, and cross-stiching. Learning to tat and spin on a wheel instead of a spindle are on my bucket list.

An added thought here: I would enjoy knowing what area of the Lone Star state you call home, if you care to share. As a Yellow Rose of Texas myself, I am proud to call Abilene my hometown. & am blessed to have family & friends in many areas of that grand state.

God bless you in all areas of life this day & all the days to come!

    emoticon Sabrina!

I certainly approve your lovely idea shared with Lynda (LeanJean6), concerning her sister. As you said, such blessings often come at just the right moment in time = our Abba's timing of blessing from an unexpected source.

I hope that Lynda will take that idea on board & end up blessing herself, as well as her sister. I am praying that all reaching out in love & concern, that Lynda does, goes toward the healing in their relationship that the two sisters need.

God bless you for your thoughtfulness in taking the time to share so beautifully. I am sure that in doing so you have put the idea into more minds than you might realize.

    emoticon , most sincerely!

Hi, I hope you dont mind me posting to you. I saw this comment of yours on on a recent thread: "2. It gives you another marker for your progress. Even if the scale doesn't budge one week, if you've lost inches you can still see progress. (Bonus: Inch loss can mean a smaller size in clothes even at a heavier weight.)" and was hoping you might be able to shed some light on it. emoticon

I have struggled to lose weight consistently over the last 5 years and have over the past few months found an exercise regime which is strength training and cardio which I like and certainly aesthetically, it is showing results. I even find that things that havent fitted me well for years are fitting or looking better on. The trouble is, no weight loss and in fact minimal weight gain despite eating a clean diet - am I doing something wrong OR will it take time for muscle that is developing to start burning the fat?

Just dropping by to say Thank You. I read the comment you posted to "When Obese, do cardio only or weights too?" and I was so relieved to read that ST helps with the excess skin.
That has been such a worry to me that I think it has hindered my shedding of excess weight.
