Maintaining my weight Loss
I am a mom of 2 kids that finally lost the baby weight.(my youngest is gonna be 7). Looking for support and motivation to keep it off and tone up what I have! Growing up I was always fit, not skinny. I graduated HS at 128 lbs, but had musclular legs and a flat stomach. Then came college...I did not gain the freshman 15, I gained about 5 lbs a year. After 4 years that was 20lbs. and I was not exercising almost at all. Then I met this guy who liked me for me weight and all. I guess being in a happy relationship, helped, We started Atkins, he soo gave up, but I kept going. When we got married 2 years later I was 108lbs. I was NEVER gonna gain back the weight! Well got pregnant and gained 50lbs (couldn't even look at protein when I was pregnant). I tried WW and lost almost all the weight, but I wasn't committed and having a baby who hated to sleep consumed my time. After I had baby number 2 (another50lb gain). I lost some weight, but I was sick of dieting. I had tried Jenny Craig, the Fat smash diet, atkins again, sugar busters, La Weight loss, etc. I was sick of diet food. My new mind set was that I am going to enjoy myself, enjoy food and enjoy life. (accept myself as I am). That was good in theory until vacation of '09. My 10 year wedding anniversary. I had bruises on my thighs from walking around in a bathing suit and my legs rubbing together. They actually hurt. I had to put babypowder on my legs to try and prevent chaffing. I looked in the mirrors and my body was round and I was not happy! My husband still loved me and NEVER said a word about my weight...That was my AH-HA moment. Started WW in Sept, when the kids went back to school. This time, I was going for ANY weight loss, not quick weight loss. As long as I was losing, I was happy! I did indulge on the weekends and have enjoyed my journey. It took me 13 months to lose 40lbs, It was definately work, but not sooo hard that I ever felt I was working harder than the results I was getting. Since starting my Healthier lifestyle. I have run in multiple 5 ks, and my body(or brain) has really started to crave exercise. I am looking for people to share my road of maintenance with. "Slow and Steady WINS the race!)
