My Goals:
I want to be as healthy as I can be at age 67.

I want to lose weight to a goal my doctor has set for me.

I want to enjoy active time with friends and family.

I want to quilt again.

My Program:
It has been a long, dry season for weight loss and I need to get to work.
I recently read "Younger Next Year" and I'm determined to add regular every day exercise! I WILL get up to an hour at least 3 times a week - according to the book, everyday would be optimum! I just need to MOVE; that is the component that is missing!

Personal Information:
I grew up in Michigan, ND and Grand Forks, ND. Graduated from Central High School and attended the University of North Dakota for one year. Returned to college when I was 44 and graduated - now that felt good. I live in Beavercreek, OH. My husband was stationed here for his last Air Force assignment and we stayed in the area when he retired from the Air Force.
I've retired as of January 1, 2011!!.
I've met the goal of getting back to quilting finally. Two small projects completed recently. It keeps my hands too busy for food. I also love reading, spending time with friends, and traveling occasionally.

Other Information:
My Mantra -
Believe in Miracles.
Forgive everyone.
Life is not fair, but it is good.

My Other Mantra:
What doesn't kill you just doesn't kill you!

Being around children as often as I am has been a true learning experience. I may not be a young woman, however, I am finding out many things from this beautiful little people.

Life is not boring to me, it is not mundane. It is full of wonder, pleasing smells, awesome colors, beautiful creatures, and breathtaking moments. Children know how to enjoy and appreciate life.

This is what I have learn from children: I think there is a secret to enjoying life more that most people overlook. A hidden way to feel so much more full every single day and it hides in its deceptive simplicity. Itís this: Love every single living thing you find and see them all through wondering eyes. Appreciate the details, notice the colors and textures and imagine you are seeing it for the very first time. See things as new.

What wonderful beauty is all around us.

Katie, I'm jealous! I wanted to watch the eclipse but we had full cloud cover and torrential rain, then snow. I thought that having to take a recovery day would be worth it. Good for you for staying up and seeing it. Some things are so rare that we need to push ourselves to experience them.
Have a wonderful rest-of-the-week!! emoticon

P. S. I'm a late-night reader too. If the book is good I can't sleep without finishing it.
