The Holidays are Coming! The Holidays are Coming! Hurry, Hurry, the Holidays are Coming!
Yes, the tempo of life picks up now. We have to all the things that we normally do and yet find time for extra events, extra people, extra fun, and sometimes extra disappointments. It is so important at this time of year to count our many blessings, enjoy our home, and just be.

Once we have enjoyed the holidays, life will seem a little slower for awhile. January is always a special time for me. Of course some of us will deal with horrendous weather and others will be blessed to live in a moderate climate but we all will continue to experience the ups and downs of life....they are present in every season so let's accept the challenge of winter.

I'm currently participating in the BLC as a LOVELY LIME! Our winter challenge is Spark the Season and I'm trying to find some ways to spark some weight loss during the challenge.

I've been working to live IN each day! It is way too easy for me to allow a day to disappear into busyness without taking any time to savor life.

I've lost weight with TOPS, SparkPeople, my SparkFriends, and the LIMES but I'm not yet where I need to be. I love the support that I get from all my Sparkfriends and teams, but I have to say that to have a 28 member team that is consistently supportive of each member and have the participation, caring and sharing that we have on the LIMES is a rare and beautiful thing.

I enjoy the Sparkpeople 30-day challenges too; I'm now repeating some of my special favorites.

Basically I'm just not quitting! I'm still trying to live mindfully and to be as healthy as possible.

Long Term Goal: To be a very healthy, very old woman, surrounded by great-grandchildren and still living independently and enjoying my life. I want to be as healthy as I can be at age "almost seventy". I want to lose weight to a goal my doctor has set for me.

Eat Wisely! Live fully in each day! Show Love and Kindness! Trust! Pray!



Personal Information:
I grew up in North Dakota and attended the University of North Dakota for one year. Returned to college when I was 44 and graduated - now that felt good. I live in Ohio now. My husband was stationed here for his last Air Force assignment and we stayed in the area when he retired from the Air Force. I've retired as of January 1, 2011!!. I've met the goal of getting back to quilting finally. Two small projects completed recently. It keeps my hands too busy for food. I also love reading, spending time with friends, and traveling occasionally.

    The secret to eating out is preparing I know..but like that nite..DH out of the blue said..ya wanna go..well that is the magick word in my world..GO!! yes where OH I don't know just GO! hee heee

    Here's to a fun and enjoyable weekend for you! We are in for more wind and cold temps..followed by snow...hmmm must be winter!

    We had ski resorts close down due to too much snow!! Avalanche danger! WOW!!

    Friday---Call a friend you haven't talked to in awhile, see a movie, make some hot chocolate (don't forget marshmallows & a dab of whip cream!)play a board game, go ice skating, order a pizza

    Saturday--Sleep in, go shopping at the mall, shop till you drop, have lunch with a friend, bake some cookies, sing in the shower, go sledding, make a snow angel, dress up & go to a party

    Sunday--Make a Snow man, go roller skating, feed the birds, dance to your favorite music,, rest & relax, put a puzzle together, make some popcorn, make a special meal of some of your favorite foods, read a book
