HOPING FOR HEALTH

Hi my name is Pat, I am 66 and recently retired. I need to lose 100 lbs. I am not a physically active person. My goal is to get healthy and lose enough weight that I can do the tings I want to.I know this will be a long journey but I am motivated and determined. I recently purchased SP Activity tracker. Seems to be improving my motivation. Need That!

Thanks so much for your kind comment on my blogpost about my mom. And I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom as well--there is this special, sad club that we share... my thoughts are with you on Sunday.

“Most people fail, not because of lack of desire, but, because of lack of commitment.” ~Vince Lombardi~

Let's commit today to get our bodies healthy and fit!
How are you doing? Have you reached your goal? I'm still on this roller coaster. One day I do really well, then mess it up the next. I don't have a problem with fitness, it's the food I have a hard time dealing with, I LOVE TO EAT!! Lol. Why does everything have to taste so good?????????????? Stop by my page some time, I'd love to hear from you.

Have a terrific Thursday.

Thank you for your understanding. Doctor ruled out x-rays; I just have deep bruises. Seems like the best place to have an accident may be at a medical facility!

I am on a self-imposed diet. It is ketogenic low carb and high fat. I have a food list made up by Dr. Eric Westman from Duke University, North Carolina. Popcorn and peanut butter are not on the list.

I eat 20 grams of carbohydrates a day, no more and 45 grams of protein, no more. The rest is fat. The kidney doctor has not talked about diet at all. He said most of my kidney functions were normal, but not the blood or protein.

I don't know if I can grasp his lingo about the kidneys. He gave a printout to me to read which explains it, but my memory is not good. He had a book which had colored drawings of the kidneys and he pointed to various places on the drawings as he explained things. That helped more than a printed page of words and their meanings.

I will have to try to read the printout many times before my next visit in June. In school we used to have to look up vocabulary words in the dictionary and write out the meaning of the word and then write a sentence using it. Maybe being 64 years old, I could try that again.
