A little spark in my life

I am in a constant battle to keep my weight down. I have been a yo-yo dieter since forever. Right now I'm just trying to get back to my first "got-to-lose" weight almost 40 years ago. Losing hasn't been the problem. Getting my mind set is usually where I first get stuck. Once I'm in, I'm all in and the weight comes off! The problem: I don't keep it off. I quit writing down my food and making healthy food choices. I love chocolate, fried foods, pastries, cookies . . . and I like baking. When I didn't have something yummy to eat, I made it. SparkPeople has solved most of my problems if I will just keep on using the services offered. I always get on the computer and check my facebook and e-mail everyday anyway. I have no excuses for not succeeding this time. I am very motivated by numbers and logging. I like all of the help offered by SparkPeople. I have a wonderful family--my parents and all of my brothers, my husband, children, grandchildren. I want to keep healthy and be around for a long time. I'm glad I've added a little spark to my life! 1/27/12: I've been using SparkPeople.com now for almost 6 months. It's the best thing I've done for myself. It's certainly added a whole new dimension to my daily life. I have made many new friends here.

My Goals:
I want to be healthy to enjoy my retirement and my grandchildren. I would like to go on a short-term mission trip.
My Program:
I am watching portions, checking out what I can eat before I eat it, avoiding the wonderful candy at the candy store I work at, and trying to walk every day. I am using the fitness resources available on SparkPeople trying to limber up and trim down.
