I have had a weight problem ever since I was a child. I remember how focused my family was on it. When I was in fifth grade, I met a pediatrician who got me a diet I could manage myself and I became pretty empowered and lost a great deal of weight. I have had a weight problem ever since I was a child. I remember how focused my family was on it. When I was in fifth grade, I met a pediatrician who got me a diet I could manage myself and I became pretty empowered and lost a great deal of weight. When I went to college, when most people gain weight I lost and kept it off pretty well until after my first child. About the age of 40, I mentally became tired and threw in the towel. Unfortunately the pounds started to sneak up on me. At 55 I got on the scale and realized I could be considered obese. Also my blood pressure was up and my liver enzymes and my calcium levels were out of whack. I knew I had to gain control again, or I won't be able to enjoy my grandchildren.

I been with Spark People for just over four years now. I am not where I want to be but my doctors have seen a radical improvement in all the things that were going bad. I am still working toward my goal weight but enjoying life as it comes. I appreciate all the support that I have received from my Spark Friends and am committed to keep at it.

Glad you endocrinologist appt. went well. Keep me posted on the liver Dr. appt. Good that your medicine was reduced!! Always a good sign! That weight is not easy getting it down! Sometimes just eating 200 calories less a day can do it for you. Now if we would just get cooperative weather...we could exercise outside more!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

By the way, how did your Dr. appt go with the endocrinologist? I went to one of those before for my thyroid many years ago...all is well to this day... we just keep a watch on it. emoticon

Well, we are almost done! 14 school days to go. Although I will probably be there a few days after the kids are gone. I'm moving my office, most likely next week, and I will need to clean out and re organize the room I'm moving into. It will be a bit challenging, as I will be sharing the room with the Parent Teacher Foundation. They really have a lot of stuff, and I hate clutter. But it's worth the headache of moving to get away from the crazy counselor I'm with now.

Hope you are having a wonderful summer.

Glad you liked the eagles...there are 3 permanently injured-cannot go back into the wild- at the wildlife park we go to. I zoom in one them and then crop the pic. But, we are close on the boardwalk in front of them regardless, maybe 25 feet. One is named Liberty...they like to talk to you sometimes. Such a fun place to go!! emoticon
