Yes, the parking lot may be the biggest challenge of my commute to work tomorrow! I didn't actually lose that much instruction time. One of my courses only meets on MW (for longer than normal), and all my lab sessions are also MW. So I only lost an hour on the other course. Still, it is a pain trying to adjust the syllabus to account for it.

Glad that you weren't hit too hard, either. I know what you mean about not clearing all the side roads. We have that issue here, too. I live 2 miles down a country road that doesn't get plowed until everything else is cleared. My concern about driving it tomorrow is that I teach until 8:00 pm on MW, which means I'll be driving home on it tomorrow night after all that snow gotten soft and slushy and refrozen. Can't be helped, though, I'll just have to take it slow.

Have a great week!

Hi Linda! Thirty inches, yikes! I've heard that the northern parts of VA and WV got hit particularly hard. We actually didn't get as much as forecasted (18 to 24 inches). I haven't found any official totals for our little town, but from what I could tell from shoveling, I'd say between 12 - 14 inches. Hard to say exactly because of all of the drifting.

Glad to hear that you weren't hit too badly either. I take it that your power stayed on as well?

Given that I teach a MWF schedule this term, and we had a 3-day weekend on either end of last week, I taught a total of 1 day on my first week back. First time that's ever happened :-)

Hope you have a great week!

Hey Linda! I keep seeing on the news that NC is getting slammed with ice and sleet. I hope it doesn't cause you problems with your power down there. We're getting all snow. So far, so good for the power here. The winds are supposed to pick up tonight and tomorrow, so I'm holding my breath. Take care and stay warm! Judy
