Working at a new me!

I am working very hard to accomplish a healthy life style. I ride my recumbent bike and my out door bike most days..making a total distance of 6-8 miles logged. I am incorporating walking too..This has been a huge challenge for me. I don't walk well..( a catch 22..I am overweight so its hard to walk..so I don't walk..and when I don't walk I gain more weight and my ability to walk is diminished. I NEED to walk..I started out slowly..only 1/4 the first day of walking on the school track..then ...

My Goals:
my daily goals,,;eat 1200 calories and track on Spark; exercise; do good deeds for others; above all be thankful..the Lord has given all..I need to remember from whence I came..!!

My Program:
Eat a healthy breakfast .eat healthy through out the day..TRACK. Bike and walk at school for the next few weeks..till school starts. Increase my walking from 1/3 mile to 1/2 mile when I can. Increase the Leslie Sansone Walk Diet DVD to 2 miles daily..Ride recumbent bike at least 4 miles a day. Take off two days a week from exercise and one day from eating good..Get right back to the program after days off.

Personal Information:
Originally from Michigan..have lived in Maine, Alaska, and now reside in Oregon. Married..have many children, that are scattered all over the globe.

Other Information:
I love the Lord..and try to serve Him to the best of my ability..I enjoy; quilting, gardening, food preservation, genealogy, chickens , sheep, dog cats, and not least but next to the Lord, my family ..etc. My favorite programs on TV are..BBC productions..such as Downton Abbey, Bleak House, Little Dorrit, The Midwifes. I also enjoy weekly viewing Antiques Roadshow.

I would love to get another piece of equipment to use in the house. If I can be consistent with the treadmill it will be easier to justify the expense, so here's hoping!

I was thinking about a bike since they aren't as expensive as some of the other home gym equipment I"ve seen for sale.

Thank you very much for the blog comment. I've been on mini tramps before and unfortunately with my chest size it causes more problems then it helps lol. I'm going to be doing walking. Small steps. Going for 10 minutes twice a day right now :)

Thanks for commenting on my Spark Page. You are right, we do sound a lot alike. I've been busy canning too and while I do walk every day, I've been putting off strength training. My doctor has told me several times that I should strength train 3 days a week. Soon LOL!

I like the 5% challenges. They last 8 weeks and the challenge is to lose 5% of your body weight. There's a strong emphasis on exercise. We take virtual trips as a team and earn miles to get to the destination by exercising. One minute of exercise earns one mile. Watch for the winter 5% challenge starting in about 8 weeks. We're in our third week of this challenge but there is usually a few weeks in between challenges for the leaders to get arrangements made.

I like your step daughter's idea to can the green tomatoes! Makes me wish I could can things.

And I agree, don't want to eat too many. I've tried making them baked instead of fried, and they're good, but not as good.

Hope you had a great ride on the recumbent bike!
