Although I want to lose a few pounds, my main goal is to be healthy. I have always said I will not grow old gracefully, I will fight it every step of the way. I want to feel young physically and mentally as long as I can. Also I want to prevent as many health related issues as possible. The only way I know how to do that is through a healthy lifestyle, so that is what motivates me!

Although I had run some before, I got serious in the spring of 2012. I wanted to run a 5k, that was the goal. My goals have only got bigger from there! Now I'm hooked and proud to call myself a runner. My ultimate goal is to run the Chicago Marathon!

In November of 2014 I had my first running injury, a fracture in my left foot. This left me unable to run until spring. It was a very tough time for me, and I gave up on my goals for quite a while.

I'm trying to get back in shape, and feel like I'm starting from square one as a runner. It will take some time, but I would like to run another 10k in the fall of 2017.

My Goals:
-Continue running at least 3 times per week
-Cross train at least once per week
-Focus on eating healthy at every meal .
-Drink 8 or more glasses of water each day.
-Continue to work on getting 8 hours of sleep each day.
-Try one new healthy receipe each month.

My Program:
-Drink 64 oz. or more of water each day.
-Limit added sugar to 25 grams per day.
-Run 3 times per week, vary the location when possible.
-Schedule exercise, let others know I will not be available on those days. Work out at home if unable to get to gym.
-Stay active on SP to keep my motivation up.
