By the Grace of God...

I believe that God has given us the foods that can help us live long healthy lives. Organic real foods are the focus. Raw milk if we can get it. Less processed foods. Preferably none, but at least less. No HFCS. No GMO. No hormones or antibiotics in my food!

Health and fitness are lifestyle choices. Not one size fits all. Do what is right (not necessarily what is easy) for your family as I do for mine.

Thank you for your comment on my blog - The Great Snoring Caper. I am leaving behind a gaudy display of the new emoticons - because what is life without a little gaudy. I'm just sayin'.

Have a great week, rock star!!

Thinking of you today! -- Don't know if you are familiar w/ Michael Card? He is the father of a "homeschool" family as well. Anyway, thought I'd share some words of a song he wrote/sang:

Take care of yourself! Keep on keepin' on!

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. My foot surgery seems like it was a long time ago now. I think I was non-weight bearing for a week and a half to two weeks. When I went back to work, it was too much at first, and I went back to the crutches - some days 2, some days only 1. (Honestely, walking with 2 is easier!) I think it was about 6 weeks before I could start walking for exercise again. Then I took it slow, and followed doctor's orders. Sometimes the shoe bothered me and I couldn't go as far or as fast as I wanted to, but it really didn't take that long to get back to normal. If I rmemeber correctly, I'd say 8-10 weeks and I was back to normal. That said, I didn't have any broken bones, or pins, or screws or anything. I do remember, even after only a couple weeks on crutches, it felt so strange to walk on it! I kind of walked with a limp, just getting used to walking on it again, and trusting that it wasn't going to hurt. I hope you are doing well. Listen to your doctor, and to your ankle, and don't over-do.

cozi app is a planner app for smart phones and ipod like devices. (they have a website you can utilize as well!) It is accessible by the entire family and mom/dad cam make up to do lists for the kids. The flyworld is my way of referring to the methods used by the Fly Lady (http://www.flylady.net/d/getting-started/
flying-lessons/control-journal/ ) I don't follow her "baby steps" because it seemed to be just too much. When it says "shine your sink", I just clear it out and wash it over... I figure anything is better than nothing and I am not willing to be OCD about having a martha stewart house.

I hope you are doing well. Are you ever off on weekend afternoons?
