.~*~. Welcome .~*~.

Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.
Love yourself today, not only once you reach your goal weight.
Eat healthy and exercise because you LOVE your body,
not because you hate it.
*hugs to you*

It is important to me to focus on my health
without losing perspective or my sense of self. )O(

"It is not beauty that endears, it's love that makes us see beauty." ~Tolstoy

Love one another enough to see that everyone is beautiful. Love yourself enough to see that YOU are beautiful!

Regarding spending: For me, staying OUT of the stores is the ticket. I don't actually "need" more clothes/jewelry/decoration. I'd rather enjoy my TIME than my money.

I have always seen great beauty in my grandmothers, so I say, fear not the skin! :)

If loving others with all my heart is all I do in this life, I will feel it has been well spent.

"When I am anxious it is because I am living in the future. When I am depressed it is because I am living in the past."
~Author Unknown

"Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are."
~Chinese Proverb

"We are always getting ready to live but never living."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story."
~ from 'Desiderata', 1927, by Max Ehrmann

"Don't let yesterday use up too much of today."
~Cherokee proverb

"Nothing is worth more than this day."
~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Starting today, make new memories."
~Julie Isphording

"Letting go is much harder than fighting."
—SuzyMobile here on SparkPeople

"I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better."
~Maya Angelou

"Our past experiences may have made us the way we are, but we don't have to stay that way."
~ J. Meyer (Note: I am not a fan of hers at all[!], but this line struck a chord with me. I don't think we can just fling past hurt out the window, of course. It often takes a lot of work and sometimes a lot of help to get better.)

Similarly...
"I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become."
~Carl Jung (Note: Again, I certainly don't believe the hype about "creating our reality"; things still happen to us as nature, humans, etc. go about their business. But I LOVE the idea here that we don't have to be defined by what happened to us, not by one moment or event. A clearer picture of ourselves is shown by what we BECOME.)

Do all the good you can,
in all the ways you can,
to all the souls you can,
in every place you can,
at all the times you can,
with all the zeal you can,
as long as ever you can."
~John Wesley

"Now stir the fire, and close the shutters fast,
Let fall the curtains, wheel the sofa round,
And while the bubbling and loud-hissing urn
Throws up a steamy column, and the cups,
That cheer but not inebriate, wait on each,
So let us welcome peaceful evening in."
~From "The Task" (Book IV. The Winter Evening), by William Cowper (pronounced "Cooper"), 1785

"A still more glorious dawn awaits."
~Carl Sagan

Thanks for your comment on my blog Inches vs. Pounds. Yes, I think you're right. I'll try to wait as long as I can between measuring. I"m only measuring my waist, using my belly button as a guide. I'm past the monthly cycle issue, thanks goodness, but there are still daily/weekly fluctuations to be sure. Looking forward to getting to know you better. Terri
