I started my weight loss journey in October 2007 around 330 pounds and joined SparkPeople in March of 2008. In 2010 I got down to 245 but stayed mostly around 255-260 until February 2011 when I started gaining again. I also took a Spark hiatus and tried Weight Watchers (worked well for my sister but not me), and now I'm back and ready to Spark again. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - My name is Josie and I'm 27. I live at home with my parents and two younger sisters. Chelsea is 20 and Kaity (KAITY_LADY on SparkPeople) is 25. I have fibromyalgia so I work two part-time jobs. We have a bit of a menagerie with 2 dogs (pitbull/lab mix), 7 cats, 1 leopard gecko, and 1 fish. I spend most of my time with an animal rescue (mostly cats) here in Ocean County, NJ. I love reading, photography, geocaching, history, anthropology, archaeology, linguistics, American Sign Language, singing, dancing (particularly bellydance and ballet), acting/theatre, and anything involving the paranormal. :) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I am working on becoming and staying healthier as well as losing weight. I know I'm in this for the long haul, so I try not to think of myself as "dieting" as much as making better food choices. I do cardio (a lot of dance and Zumba) and weight training. I live by the theory of everything in moderation including moderation (ie. 80% healthy food and life choices and 20% life happens). I'm always looking for new Spark friends. :) -------------------- I started my weight loss journey on Nov. 1st, 2007, officially at 305 pounds, but I know it was actually around 325, so that's my starting weight. My goal weight is flexible, depending on how I look and feel, but right now I'm shooting for 135. -------------------- I was shocked and thrilled to be named May 14th, 2009's Done Girl of the Day! My Goals:
"Technically", I should weight about 130-140, I think, since I have a "large frame" and I'm about 5'5" tall, so I'm ideally shooting for 135, but realistically hoping to be under 175.
My Program:
"healthier eating": - keeping track of everything I put in my mouth - trying to stay within SparkPeople's recommended calorie range - tracking calories, fat, fiber, and protein daily. --------------------- "consistant exercise": - I belong to a gym again (yay!) - Wii exercise: EA Sports Active, Wii Fit Plus, Walk It Out - bellydance and ballet class weekly as well as dancing at home (doing my Done Girl Dance!) - 30 Day Shred DVD and DDR on rare occasion, too - riding my bike - bowling on Mondays - GeoCaching when I can get people to go with me
