I am a single mother of two young men--Brian, 23 and Shane, 19. I served in the U.S. Army, 22 years and attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. I retired from the military in April, 2002. I have struggled with my weight for the past 9 years, due to medical conditions. I am trying to be positive that I can do this and I am trusting that my Lord will be with me all the way.
To get healthier and lose this weight because my body is a temple to God.
I have struggled with my weight since 1999, when I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C and I could no longer exercise the way I was used to. I started a very hard regimen of treatment (48 weeks) in March, 2000. In 2000, I was also diagnosed with depression, thyroid disease and gall bladder disease--all complications of the Hepatitis C. I had my gall bladder removed in November of that year. I completed the treatment in February, 2001 and when I went back in August, 2001 to see if I was still in remission, I was given the bad news that I had relapsed. In February, 2002 I started my second treatment cycle and completed that in December of that year. We had to delay my second treatment cycle because my depression became a lot worse due to knowing what I was going to go through and my marriage was ending.
I love reading, scrapbooking, doing activities in my church and animals. Besides, my two sons, I consider myself mom to Dodger, Daisy, Sam and Molly (my four-legged children) and Gigi and Jobar (my winged children--Cockatiels) I help out with the Confirmation Class at my church and I am part of Missouri East Walk to Emmaus. I read a wide variety of books--biographies, non-fiction, fiction, Christian. In movies, I enjoy dramas and some comedies.
