I want to get in the best shape of my life as I enter my 40s!

I'm blessed to live very close to the ocean in beautiful Southern California. I have a great husband and two beautiful daughters (one of whom has left the nest).

I've been a vegetarian for over six years (but not a super healthy one), and I'm leaning toward veganism now. I love how giving up meat has expanded my food choices! I was a boring meat & potatoes person before, but now I seek out more exciting options like Indian and Thai and whatever else sounds tasty and healthy. ...

Exercise has always been an off-and-on thing for me -- I like it when I'm actually doing it, but I have a hard time staying motivated. My husband bought me a beautiful bicycle for my birthday last summer, so I'm trying to spend a lot more time on it.

I never had a weight problem until my mid-twenties. My husband introduced me to drinking good beer and watching football from the couch, and it was all downhill from there!

My Goals:

My Program:
I try to walk, run, and cycle 3-5 days a week. I take a yoga class at least twice a week, but do lots of asanas at home in front of the TV too. I need to incorporate more strength training -- just haven't gotten into the habit yet.

Other Information:
I'm a bookworm, so when I'm not exercising (and often when I am) I have my nose in a book.

thanks for the comment...when I was young (and cute LOL), I was running 3 miles a day and weight training at least 3 days a week. It's taken me quite a while to get back to the gym and a routine, but I took before and progress pictures and there IS visible change (even though the scale is still my enemy!) I think of exercise as antiaging magic.
