Continuing on the Journey

I began this journey in 2010. I lost half of the weight I had targeted that first year and SparkPeople was a godsend. It gave me the community and the information I needed to start losing weight. And that was something I had begun to believe just wasn't possible.

Since that time I've stayed pretty connected to this website. I've made some good friends...some have stayed and some have gone. 2013 has been a year where I've just held my own at a plateau where I'm "comfortable". ...

But I haven't reached that elusive goal. 2014 will be that year that I dust myself off, get serious about weight LOSS and start moving again.

My Goals:
Fit - walk for exercise 6 days a week

Increase my biking fitness with 3 rides each week. 10 miles to 50 miles.

Become more yoga fit, flexible with better balance.

Complete the loss of 25 unwanted pounds by August 15th.

Eat healthy & kick the diet soda addiction.

My Program:
Keeping calories well balanced and in the range of 1400 - 1500 daily

Walking-twice daily with one for aerobic needs and second for pleasure

Drinking more water.

Yoga class - Tuesday, strength class, Sunday

Blogging and reading blogs to stay inspired

Other Information:

So nice of you to take the tour of my new home. You're right, the landscaping is never done, that's what's fun about doing gardening. There are always dead flowers to snip off, weeds to pull, a new flower to stick in the ground, or some new little thing that you think will look cute in your garden (like maybe a little fairy or a gnome). I may have to get me one of those brightly colored gazebo looking things, I see a few of them popping up around the neighborhood. And if it's too much for me to put together I have a very talented "handyman."

Now I can concentrate on some of the more fun things, like my acrylic painting, time to experiment some more.

Thanks for stopping by my blog -- you know, I hate to face reality as much as the next person, but as we age we have to become much more focused on what we eat and how much exercise we get. It is really hard to maintain or lose weight.

Hope you have a fabulous week! I'm in landscaping mode this week, that should use up some calories!

Great work on avoiding those cookies,I think I need to try your number 2 idea definately,I'm also currently working on trying to up my fluids and keep reminding myself that sometimes when we think we are hungry we are actually thirsty.best of luck on reaching all your goals emoticon
