I love the George Burns Roses. I am so glad I kept it. Our next project is to start clearing out the area around the rose bush. We are going to take out the Lady Banks by the wall. It started growing over the block wall that divides our yards. I asked our neighbor if he wanted us to trim it back. He told me no. A year later he trimmed it back so much that it killed half of the plant. Plus the plant became wild. It became bigger then we thought it would, so time to take it out. I didn't want to take that plant out for a while because the birds use it. We will replace it with a Josephine Clematis. Dennis built a trellis for the vine to climb up and over it. It still will be bird friendly.

Also there are colorful weeds that are taking over that area where we walk. It is a native weed. Not sure of the name. It has a pretty purple flower, but it is invasive. Lots of work to be done!!

How is your home coming along?

Those are Joshua Trees. We used to have a lot of them, but when they started building more homes and businesses, a lot of the trees were taken out. Such a shame. They take years to become a good size. How are you feeling? emoticon

I almost had Dennis take out the multi colored rose bush. So glad we didn't.
At the beginning the roses stayed tiny, and looked like it was struggling.
Now it is so pretty. emoticon
