I am still in this. I've been at it too long to give up! I started my journey 2006 after my daughter was born and on SP since 2008. I've appreciated all of the educational resources, tools, and support SP has! I will continue this process from weight loss through to maintenance, no matter how hard or how long it takes!

I find myself in a difficult situation. Even though I eat very healthy and mostly organic, and very minimally processed foods, I've gained some weight and have had indistinct symptoms. I've had illnesses off and on for the last year, a surgery, and injuries. My exercise plan has gone from nearly advanced to gimpy due to a shredded rotator cuff and bicep tendon and an old injury causing my knee to lose nearly all of it's cartilage. I have had thyroid issues and hormone shifts. I now am facing oral cancer surgery (resulting from an irritated mucosa from my wisdom tooth extraction 20 years ago).

Despite my crazy health issues, I care for an ill mother who has been in an up and down battle for her life for years. I homeschool my ADD/Dyslexic son and APD daughter. I am active in my church through choir and Bible studies, secular research, and Apologetics.

Although I am starting over in some respects, I know it is not because I've given up or because I'm sitting around eating junk food! I am smaller than I was at this weight before, I am healthier cardiovascular wise, so I know that whatever is causing this backtrack may be more difficult to conquer, but I will be living healthy while I fight the battle!

My Goals:
Jan. 2008: To be able to be easily active without feeling worn out quickly. June 2009 - Done and working on more rigorous fitness

Jan. 2008: To look on the outside like I feel on the inside.
June 2009 - More each day!

Jan. 2008: To be an even better partner for my husband in all ways.
June 2009 - Improvements made and constantly looking for new ways to serve.

Jan. 2008: To be more active with my kids.
June 2009 - Way more than I was and continuing to find new ways to include them in my fitness each day.

My Program:
I am paying close attention to portion control and balance of nutrients. I have always chosen healthy foods, ones that are fresh or minimally processed, and do not contain Hydrogenated oils or High Fructose Corn Syrup, and now I just need to balance them more efficiently. The key to my balance is all things in moderation, with intention.

Personal Information:
I've been working on prioritizing my life to truly be God, others, me. As I rely on the Lord for His guidance and His plan for me, I will have more joy, purpose, and peace. My hope is that, as I become more intentional in life, weight loss will be the positive side effect.
I am a Christ follower devoted to the gospel found in the Bible (I prefer NASB Revised translation).
I love being a wife to my amazing husband. Our marriage has had its ups and downs, but we always work together to make it better.
My kids are a blessing and I am privileged to care for them full time (even though it is tight financially and even on days when I'm a grump and the kids are on my last nerve).
I struggle with perfectionism, knowing I'll never have a day go exactly how I want, but God knows His plans, and they include the tests to my character that strengthen my reliance on Him.

Other Information:
I am involved in choir at my church. What a blessing to use a God-given talent to praise Him and call others to worship!
2 Corinthians 12:9 - And He has said to me, " My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly , therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

WELCOME back!! I was thinking about you when you commented on my page! Glad to hear you're back and doing well! Keep up the great work!

I've started working out with my hubby on days he works from home doing strength training sessions and lots of cardio on days he's at the office, but I'm not moving very fast in the losses department... still seem to be on the plateau I hit a year or so ago (though my DH says he can see changes that I can't). I'm not giving up- still plugging away- but hopefully soon I'll see something!

Anyway, glad you stopped by! Have a wonderful week!!!

Hi I saw your post on the boards too and couldn't help identifying. I would have to agree that any unnatural hormones in your body can and will have adverse affects. I also wanted to mention I found a plan that is really working. I have lost 25lbs in 9 weeks! If you're interested let me know I can give you more details!

Saw your comment on the boards....

Don't listen to your DR about the pill. I posted my story how I got up to 215 lbs and was not able to lose more than the same 10lbs over and over. I was very strict for quite awhile. I worked out a lot, watched what I ate.... Still nothing......I went off the pill, ate healthily, and worked out. I've since lost 83lbs! So I guess it depends on how badly the endo & ov cysts are effecting you. I also get cysts (up to 5CMs) every few months but they go away on their own. I'd rather deal with the pain now and then rather than be 80lbs overweight. Obviously that has it's own health risks as well! I do understand the severity of pain is different for everyone...but I could be a spokes person for anti hormonal contraception. I was on it when I thought I needed to be from around 17-25 yrs old. Shots, patches, many different types of pills, rings...you name it. Always was moody and felt unlike my real self. Just kept getting bigger and bigger. My Dr's also told me the same they told you. But guess what, after going off it I feel much better & I've lost a ton of weight. Sure still am moody 1 week a month but better than 30 days a month!Good Luck!!
