Hi everybody! Iím Kim. Iíve been on Spark on and off since 2007. Hi everybody! Iím Kim. Iíve been on Spark on and off since 2007. When I started Spark I was about to get married and was working with a personal trainer who mentioned it as a good site for tracking nutrition. I started here just tracking food, which Iím still terrible at, but Iíve stayed here through my journey to 30 and throughout my recent pregnancy. Then, in April 2013, I kind of fell off the Spark wagon. Iíve mostly maintained my mindset but I had a rough year where a lot of things got put on the back burner including my healthy lifestyle.
Fast forward to today and Iím in a much better place. Iím back to working out regularly and trying to eat consciously. Iím somewhat of a second time mom if you will, trying to find a way to balance my life by giving importance to the things that matter the most to me now. I have C, my 14 (almost 15) year old daughter and L, my 1 year old daughter! Life is a lot different as a ďSecond Time MomĒ and Iím having to find new ways to incorporate health and fitness into this new world that revolves around a one year old. I donít have the luxury of working out whenever I feel like it or spending all the time I want on meal planning and grocery shopping. I am really focused on enjoying being a mom and making life revolve around that.
I started keeping a journal, Diary of a Second Time Mom (D2TM), a while back and I decided that the best way for me to get back on the wagon would be to start posting my journal entries here. Itís mostly everyday things that happen and thoughts that I have. Itís usually pretty dull but Iíve been trying to focus on highlights of each day; things that I know that Iíll forget but want to remember forever. I think Iíll be more likely to incorporate healthy habits in my days if Iím writing these entries here too though so Diary of a Second Time Mom is going public! Iíd love to take you all on this little ride through my new world! Iíd love to get your advice on parenting a high-schooler or a toddler and any tips/tricks you use to stay healthy with both!
I've got some go to sayings that I try to remember when I'm not feeling it all. My favorite is:

I have this written on a Post It and stuck on my monitor at work!! And I've found that it works in most situations. . . even ones not related to weight loss or healthy living.
Another that I find myself repeating time and time and time again is:
"Just do it." -- Nike
Have more true words ever been spoken?? I rest my case.
And finally, I saw this one on some wise Spark Person's page back when I re-started here on Spark and I've used against myself and I've used it on people in my life when they complain that it's "SOOOO hard"

Fitness Minutes: 41,056
I am currently aiming to get in 40-60 minutes of cardio and/or ST a day. I workout over my lunch breaks to make sure this happens 5 days a week !! I mix it up with a little of everything but mainly it's running, dog walking and the stair machine and lots of free weights.
I'm terrible about tracking nutrition but I try my hardest. In general I try to make sure that I 1) eat when I'm hungry, 2) eat clean, 3) eat balanced. This doesn't always happen but it's what I've got!
