My name is Kelly
The Journey has brought me here at this time to encourage continued change - a healthy lifestyle is something I barely remember. Slowly it's come to this: Spark People. Words do not describe correctly the gratitude I feel for this website...this multi-faceted tool that helps many in various ways.

Change has come in the career aspect of my life as well. Last week I dissolved my business Kelly the Jerk and no longer drive around to area taverns selling snacks.

I feel sluggish when I'm not drinking enough water, eating enough fruits and vegetables and exercising. I'm so happy to be a part of this website.

My Goals:
I want to be healthy
I want to feel capable of doing anything!
I want to be strong
I want to be lean
I want to drink less alcohol
I want to quit smoking
I want to sleep well
It would be nice to be able to eat a meal and then still be able to do something...I overeat all the time. I don't even know when to quit! Sometimes it doesn't seem like I've eaten a meal and I'm still so full I can't move!


My Program:
I started eating more healthy foods and try to make as much as I can from scratch because I believe additives make me sick. I have been working out on my Home Gym last week and have really kept up. I've also incorporated some cardio even though I'm a smoker and my blood pumps so hard I feel like I'm going to pass out. But I'm decreasing my cigarettes every day and increasing my cardio as I go. I'm also checking out all the great community forums on SparkPeople so I can stay focused and on track!

Other Information:
I enjoy reading; I read all the time. I would like to enjoy other activities more often when I get into shape like snowmobiling, hiking, swimming and dancing. I really love to garden as well and think that my yard would benefit immensely from a healthier head gardener!

    It's true. I have weighed over 200 pounds twice in my life and I'm sure not going to let it happen a third time. It's taken time, but I learned this really is a lifestyle change and not a diet. Diets definitely don't work.

    Make small changes. Don't try to do everything at once or you will end up frustrated. It's okay to have bad days. we all have them. they're part of the weight loss journey. Be kind to yourself. Before you know it, your good days will outnumber the bad days and that's what we're really working for i.e. balance.
